48 quid a ticket for Chelsea away?

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

On topic, I don't really think it's too expensive for a big London club especially seeing that is an 'A' grade game.

"Ticket details for the trip to face Fulham at Craven Cottage on Saturday, March 20 (3pm) are now available."

Seriously, Fulham was £25 or so just a few seasons back. I can get to Craven Cottage on my monthly Travelcard - but I'm still not happy about the price.

Are Fulham really a big London Club? They're the only outfit I know who have a Neutral End aimed at bored Tourists.

Sorry mate, read it wrong. Thought you were talking about the Chelsea game. And no, Fulham aren't, but they must feel it is more lucrative to charge these prices in comparison to numbers through the gate.

I've been to Fulham twice and can only say that it is a rather quaint shithole!

That is scandalous, 48 quid to go to a football game.
When will this end?
Someone at the f.a needs to step in here.
So add 50 quid petrol there and back and say a few beers and a munch 40 quid.
There's 140 quid, 'for one person'.
And it is hardly going to get cheaper in the months/years to come is it?
Not good at all this.

Who drives on their own?

Hardly the point is it?
Overall.
Yourself, you are paying well over 100 pound to watch a game of football.

Of course it is the point. 5 people in car, split 5 ways is a tenner petrol, take a flask and some sarnies and we have a match for £60, thats £80 cheaper than what you state.

What about burgers n bevvys?
You have to have a beer at the footy lol, well not have to but most do.
Near to 100 quid.
But anyway.
50 quid to go and watch a bunch of millionaires playing football to the average joe is a bit excessive to say the least.
There's got to be an limit sometime?

We'll have to get used to it!

No they will have to lower there prices.
Why should we get used to it?
It won't stop here, the prices will go up season after season.

I can't believe they're charging that.

I actually like going to Craven Cottage. We take over one of their Pubs (8 Bells) every season and the Locals eye us with suspicion. It's West London so it's a bit posh. Lovely walk through the park to get to the Match.

Roy Hodgson is a great Manager, too.

Boycott overpriced games? I got a ticket for a mate in the Colin Bell yesterday and it was 45 snots. We'd have an empty ground and we'd have a thread about part time fans not turning up when it's a big game.
Brum are another club that hiked its ticket prices stupidly, it nearly doubled in two sesons.

Were the really £25 a few years ago - seems a big drop in price from when I paid £40 the game Zola scored hattrick last game of season in (I think) 2003. I haven't even considering going to Chelsea away ever since

We have boycotted Bolton and Wigan in recent seasons - it can and has been done.

I remember Bolton about 2 years back, I was sat in a block virtually on my own in the upper tier of the Reebok for a league game.

I dont so much mind when a club who charges high prices do this as a matter of course, what does fuck me off is when clubs take the piss by hiking the price just because we have a decent away following.

Having said that, we are now considered Category A this season for many clubs, so can expect the prices to be higher than in the past.

Fulham was £35 last year and £30 the year before

Well that's some quality boycotting if you were at the game. However it's been tried but obviously hasn't worked otherwise this thread wouldn't be started.

It's easy to boycott grounds like Wigan and Bolton because they struggle to fill their grounds. Both teams tried it on with us in recent seasons charging us silly money thinking that we would turn up and fill our section but it backfired on them when we boycotted both grounds and now that they charge us a sensible price around £25 we sold out both grounds this season with tickets going like hot cakes. Grounds in London will have plenty of tourists willing to pay the entry price and if we asked for a smaller allocation they would just fill the empty seats with their own fans.
