Looking forward to it, fuck knows why but I am. We are a different side in games likes this and I expect tevez and Bellamy to start and be champing at the bit, that alone gives me hope.

I've no expectation of a result but I don't feel it is a lost cause. Terry looked fucking awful on Wednesday, Milito made him look pedestrian at times - turned him so easily on a few ocasions. Without Cole and Zhirkov, johnson (if Bobby has the bottle to play him) could have some joy and there are reasons to be optimistic.......Lampard is fucked...they're not firing. The key is keeping Drogba quiet.

I'm strangely hopeful.

Not a bad idea, he struggled when Balotelli came on in the CL game and attacked him, while he was comfortable and always going forward before that.

I know I shouldn't be, but I'm confident we will get something, if luck is on our side we might even nick a 1-0 win.

Chelsea away will always remind me of Garrido when it was Sven's team. I've never seen a player crumble like that in a match, so much so that he couldn't even seem to muster up the energy to run back after he'd been skinned a few times. Same game Hart got nutmegged a few times too.

If we get anything out of this it will be a bonus.
If we lose honourably and having given it a go then not too much damage.
If we do like we did at Spurs, get taken apart and lose badly...wait for the storm that follows. Not just on here but in the media. It could be the game that ultimately seals mancini's fate with the board and the fans...the pressure will be enormous for change at the end of the season.

I like that optimism.

I'd add that we really need to get to Drogba and piss him off, let him throw a wobbly.

A couple of crunching tackles against Anelka , if he plays wouldn't go amiss either.

Keep Johnson and Bellamy, if fit, wide and have De Jong nail lampard every time he's on the ball - Fairly of course !

I don't think not having Adebayor available will be a problem, because he was present but did nothing in the game at COMS.

The last thing we need to do is lump the ball in the air to them.

If you remember their goal against CIty was from an outragous corner decision and a deflection to boot. City matched them
across the board.

I''d be happy with a point , 4 from 6 from the current leaders is not a bad haul for any team. 6 from 6 would be just brilliant.

Then again Zurich mate...we could dig a trench around our area and put machine gun posts at the corners.

Seriously, I keep changing my mind about this one. There are far too many what ifs with us at the moment.
I just want a What if we win....Hoping.

Although I see what your saying John, can't see why a game against Chelsea, if not a good result should seal his (Mancini's) fate.
Perhaps a drubbing by Everton/Spurs/United at home ?

Ha ! Sounds a good idea that.

I'm waiting for Ferguson to give his stamp of approval on a City win. He's bound to have some influence. Something to say to affect Chelsea.

You couldn't get a BETTER place to get our season on track!

Is Ade banned or did he appeal?? He bloody should do, to get sent off for being fouled, and then being tall and trying to fend of a dwarf is ridiculous.

The only result that would surprise me in any way whatsoever, would be us winning by more than 2.

Damage limitation will be important if 4th spot comes down to Goal difference. Tottenham's is presently +22, Liverpool's +16, Villa's +16 and ours is +15. The worst of the lot. It could be +12 if Chelsea start to play. They've also got that defeat to avenge.
