I wish the Champions League was a two legged knocked out competition as well instead of a prolonged dull as dishwater, dead rubber playing money making league system.

Total agreement. If the Cup winners have already qualified for Chumps league it then goes to the league position. It would really bring an extra dimension to the Cup finals. Win and it's all glory. Lose, and it's nothing with potentially other clubs hanging on the result. It would also mean that up to 3 clubs in the Champions League are actually champions of something.
Attack the argument of the person, not the person of the argument- except Carl.

Might even increase cup attendances too. That said could you imagine UEFA risking a lower league team in the premier club competition?
Tracking back is overrated.

A caveat of the additional CL qualification slot was that it would go to the 4th place team. Even if the PL Chairmen agreed for it to go ahead, UEFA would have told them to sod off anyway.

That's right WW, that was my understanding as well. If we had gone for a play-off then the 'worse' teams would continually be knocked out in the first stage and we would lose the 4th place spot altogether eventually.
