El Manchester City está dispuesto a hacer un desembolso millonario este verano con el objetivo de reforzarse para ganar la próxima Premier League. El diario MARCA desvela en su edición de este sábado que el City presentará al Real Madrid una oferta de 50 millones de euros por Higuaín y Fernando Gago. Hay que recordar que al Madrid ambos jugadores le costaron 33,5 millones en 2006.

Según ha podido saber nuestro compañero Ulises Sánchez-Flor, Roberto Mancini, entrenador del conjunto inglés, ha pedido expresamente al dueño del club, el jeque multimillonario Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, el fichaje de los dos jugadores argentinos del Real Madrid.

No es la primera vez que el Manchester City intenta fichar a Gago. Durante el pasado mercado de invierno, el centrocampista argentino estuvo a punto de hacer las maletas e irse a la Premier pero todo se frustró en el último momento. Real Madrid y City llegaron a un acuerdo para traspasar a Gago por 18 millones de euros, pero los ingleses necesitaban el consentimiento del dueño del club, el jefe Al Mansour, y éste no llegó a tiempo del cierre del mercado en la Premier.

Tras el fallido intento, Mancini reconoció que el City volvería a intentar ficharle este mismo verano. "Gago es un jugador fantástico y puede que intentemos ficharlo de nuevo en verano", Hay una posibilidad de hacernos con él", dijo.

En cuanto a Higuaín, el Manchester City siempre ha seguido muy de cerca la evolución del 'Pipita', que tiene una de las fichas más bajas de la plantilla blanca al cobrar 1,6 millones. Hace poco la prensa inglesa publicaba que la renovación de Higuaín con el Real Madrid no iba por el buen camino y que el City se mantenía expectamente para entrar en acción. De hecho, se rumoreaba que el club inglés estaría dispuesto a ofrecer 40 millones de euros por el delantero del Real Madrid.

Seriously though, himself, Tevez and Messi will be the argentinian attack for years to come and it would be a dream come true to have Tevez link up with Higuain.

Manchester City are ready to make a multimillion euro foray into the transfer market this summer with the aim of strengthening in order to win next year’s Premier League. The daily Marca reveals in its Saturday edition that City will put in an offer of 50 million euros to Real Madrid for Higuaín and Fernando Gago. One must remember that the pair cost Madrid 33.5€ million in 2006.

As far as our colleague Ulises Sánchez-Flor has been able to ascertain, Roberto Mancini, coach of the English club, has expressly asked the club’s multimillionaire sheik owner Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan to sign the two Argentines from Real Madrid.

It’s not the first time that Manchester City have tried to sign Gago. During the winter transfer window just gone, the Argentine midfielder was about to pack his bags and head to the Premier League but he was to be frustrated at the last minute. Real Madrid and City reached an agreement over the transfer of Gago for 18€ million, but the English needed the go-ahead from the club’s owner Al Mansour, and he didn’t arrive in time for the closing of the Premier League transfer window.

Following the failed attempt, Mancini indicated that City would try again this summer: “Gago is a fantastic player and we might try to sign him again in the summer, there a chance we might make him our player,” he said.

With regards to Higuaín, Manchester City have always followed closely the progress of “Pipita” (“Little Seed”), as he is on one of the smallest contracts of the whole squad, earning just 1.6€ million a year. Recently, the English press were writing that Higuaín new contract negotiations were not on the right track and that City were waiting expectantly to jump in. In fact, it was rumoured that the English club would be prepared to offer 40€ million for the Real Madrid striker.

Real Madrid general director Jorge Valdano has revealed the club are in talks with Gonzalo Higuain over a new deal which he hopes will keep the striker at the club for the rest of his career.

Argentinian forward Higuain, who scored a hat-trick in the 4-1 win at Real Valladolid on Sunday night, has now hit 19 goals in what is proving to be an excellent season for Los Merengues.

Indeed, the 22-year-old's form this season has helped him outshine many of the so-called Galacticos at the Bernabeu and prompted new contract talks with Valdano keen to extend his deal.

"He is a player with a perfect record," Valdano told Spanish media. "We are talking with him but there is no rush. We want to renew his deal and for him to finish his career at Real Madrid."

Higuain joined Real from River Plate in January 2007 and helped Los Merengues win the title in his first season at the club.
