Roque Santa Cruz’s goal at Fulham set a new record of Premier League goals scored on the road for City after Craig Bellamy’s second against Chelsea equalled the previous best of 23 set in 2004/05.

With 25 scored so far, Roberto Mancini’s side will be hoping to add several more to the tally before the end of the season as club records continue to tumble.

City are now also just one victory away from logging their best overall record away from home after recording their fifth win of the campaign at Craven Cottage.

Based on the current format of 38 teams, the Blues’ best set of results on their travels to date was set during 2002/03, when six wins and four draws were recorded.

In 2006/07, City again won six times away, but drew one game less, but the latest triumph in West London means that the 16 matches away from the City of Manchester Stadium have so far yielded five wins, seven draws and just four losses.

With trips to Burnley, Arsenal and West Ham still to come, the Blues have already equalled their best-ever Premier League points haul of 22 and barring disaster, more points should be gained from the final three fixtures.

By contrast, the Blues have only ever endured one campaign with no victories at all away from home and that miserable statistic was recorded during the 1986/87 relegation season when just eight goals were scored...

Not being pedantic but surely if Bellamy's second at Chelsea equalled the previous best Adam Johnson's at Sunderland broke the record and not Roque's?.
