Team to sack Wigan

good news is that both Ade and Stevie are in contention, MEN reporting that Ireland only suffered bruising.

So that could mean we get our best possible front line on the pitch on Monday.
At Home.. will Bob throw a bit more caution to the wind?
Could we possibly see Ireland with just Bazzer sat behind him? or is that asking too much?

Tevez Ade

Bellemy Barry Ireland Johnson

Garrido Kompany Toure Richards

Given

SWP and DeJong to come on when appropriate

I can't find confirmation of who is fit to play. I'd go with:

Given
Zabaleta Toure Kompany Garrido
Johnson Barry De Jong Bellamy
Tevez Adebayor

Ireland and SWP to come on if we're struggling. We shouldn't be.

I gave a thought about whether to start with Adebayor or not - but he's been suspended and not injured.

Even allowing for the stupid tactics v Everton, (trying to match them man for man rather than making them worry about us) I thought Ireland was particularly awful. If he hadn't gone off injured there would have been quite a bad crowd reaction to him as well, people were noticing a lack of commitment & there was a nasty atmosphere building.

Also he was either thick or didn't want the ball but he made it very very difficult to pass to him & even when he was available in space, seemed to be going through the motions, making a token effort asking for the ball rather than actually shouting for it. Arteta was the opposite & would have done his job 100 times better.

If we're going to give him another chance v Wigan, we need to watch him very carefully, act quickly if he's not producing it & get him off the pitch rather than risk losing momentum.

I'd swap Nige for Stevie or possibly Shaun (4-4-2). Wigan have only scored 14 and conceded 20 in 16 games at home, so they are not what you would call prolific are they. Definately go with a more offensive minded team that 2 DMs doesn't give us, as we need to start bossing games and coming away with the points, even if it is 5-4.

Swap Barry for Ireland,m Keep NDJ in the centre to break up thier play and lets have an attacking midnset from the off - Barry and NDJ just isnt working for me and in current form its Barry who's got to be dropped to the Bench.

This could be the game for Stevie to get his 'S' back again!

A rproper midfielder can get forward to support the attack and get back to support the defence. Cheers, Nidge, don't call us, we'll call you.

I went for NDJ & Barry because they're all we've got! Both Barry & Ireland have been absolutely abysmal this season.

thought Barry was getting a bit better, plus he seems to be more effective when DeJong doesn't play.. im starting to get a feeling the two dont mix

I could sense the crowd getting frustrated with Ireland as well, but i actually thought he was starting to get going and get involved quite positively until that Everton player nailed him (quite deliberately from where I was sat!)

Deary me, Ted, you'll never learn anything unless you follow the ball and shout abuse at the opposing fans! Seriously, for anyone who cares to look closely, Stevie is a big worry. I think we may have a fruitcake on our hands.Hope not but his body language is veering towards the Cleesian.

So Doug said Bobby took an 'interesting' selection for his first team on Saturday training.

Maybe, based on Wigan's penchant for absolute disaster, caution is going out the door tonight. Maybe Bellers' old knees will be rested ready for the next away match - Burnley on Saturday? Maybe Barry will be at LB, where both he and the team play better? maybe forward-looking Vieira will be in instead of Nigel the crab? Adebayor will be straining at the leash tonight, I just hope he doesn't get over-excited again.

Keep De Jong away from that fucking starting 11.
No need for such negativity at home to Wigan.
