I didn't hear them say that at all.

Aftermatch comm on ESPN...All they spoke about is Tevez should of got a straight red as well.

If the Wigan player deserved a red (he didn't) then Tevez deserved it even more.

But I don't give a fuck.

I would've sent Vieira off personally.

Not a red for me. A yellow maybe. Thought the red was for Tevez and I was furious because all he was doing was trying to block the ball - shhould Caldwell have gotten to it. Felt for the Wigan guy a bit.

Odds on Tevez will be banned by Thursday. It's so sad to truely believe the game is that corrupt but I really do believe 100% that the FA will jump on anything to get Liverpool into 4th.

I think a red maybe was a bit harsh but then just look at Caldwell's face right before he lunges at Tevez. Fucking hell he really looks like he wanted to hurt him.

When i first saw the red i actually thought it was for tevez. I thought his challenge was worse, but thankfully it wasn't because he won us the game

I thought it was a red. Certainly live it seemed that way. I was only surprised that the ref actually gave it. He came in fast over the ball, studs showing, he could have broken Tevez's leg if he hadn't pulled out of the way. As it was it was dangerous enough.

It had all the criteria that refs like for giving reds. Broken play leading to change in direction so victim isn't expecting someone to lung from that distance, complete recklessness in attacking the ball with minimal consideration of safety for the other player, intent to hobble/sting the opposition's best player, distance travelled in the air, aggression, two feet. He was a red card from the moment he went into the tackle, the scissors kick didn't help.

Wigan were taking the piss with some of the stuff they were trying to get away with, game was always going to degenerate, thankfully no one got hurt and they lost out instead of us for once.

Yellow for me. Borderline, but I'd be upset if one of ours got sent for it.

I thought that it was a red live - and having seen it on the recording this morning still think it was - but anyone else hear the pundit on ESPN continually going on about that Tevez should have been sent off as well

I"ll do a Wenger and say I didn't see it properly at the game. It was a long way from me. Watched it on telly half an hour ago and thought Tevez was lucky not to go for his challenge. Looked a stamp to me.

A question ladies and gentlemen:
If a player who hasn't been booked yet scores and celebrates by first ripping his shirt off and then runs to the stands to celebrate with the fans, will he be sent off? as there would be two bookable incidents..

It is the whole celebration that is the bookable offence as far as I understand it. However, my understanding is that unless the celebration takes too long then running to the crowd is not a bookable offence.

In other words, the referee was a cunt for booking Carlos

Ref was right. He had no choice. Going into the crowd is considered dangerous because fans sometimes surge forwards. Yes, people have been hurt.
