Anyone know why the reception on most mobile networks is so poor in COMs?
Its fine outside but degrades when in the stands.
There is seemingly full service on o2 but can't text most of the time
There is also no 3G Vodafone coverage what so ever.
Was trying to watch the match (for instant replays) on ESPN on my phone with no luck (I know its sad!)
I noticed that there is an MCFC wifi network available in the stadium, but it (rightly) asks for a username/password, anyone know how/if I can get one?
Thanks
Ollie

I'm on Three (Yeah I know) but surprising I am able to text (and unfortunately receive them off gloating Rags) and use the net when I'm at the game.

Ah, not just me then? I reckon they must be jamming mobiles. No other explanantion. It's not the steel and concrete problem, can't make calls even in the open of Level 1, Row 1. Weird.

Is it something to do with the fact that the pitch and bottom tier were constructed beneath ground level following the conversion after the commenwealth games? Or is it the same for the upper levels? Mine works fine most of the time!

A little munchkin told me that it is the Signal Gremlins that are causing the problems. They whip out their Sig Sticks at the start of the game and wipe out all outside Comms to leave us in a world of our own, Bermuda Triangle like. Apparently, they look like that little Green Man with the Piss Stick who comes while you're asleep and shits in your mouth after a night on the lash. So I'm told!

i have experienced same thing at coms, swamp and wembley - i thought they were disabled where a large amount of people are together as phones can be used for terrorist activity

This point was raised at the last Points Of Blue meeting.
A mini repeater/base station for O2 (and Orange) to boost the signal strength would be a welcome addition.
Club response: We will investigate what can be done.

It's all to do with the Bandwidth I think. You can generally make and receive calls unless there is (a) a goal when people call their mates or (b) half time when a lot of people use the phone too. If you keep trying, you do eventually get a line which would suggest it's just a case of an overloaded network.
The internet too comes and goes which again is a bandwidth issue.
I'm on O2 and struggle, but my son used to be on Voda and he never struggled. I presume O2 therefore have a lesser capacity.

There is a free WiFi signal but you need the password for it, I think it's for the press.
