The Burnley Fans Who Left After 20 Mins

I can understand their frustration but to leave so early is ridiculous!

What did they expect? That they would win every game? Pathetic fans who deserve relegation.

Then again, like I put in the other thread - I think those (majority) who stayed were Great.

They were leaving after 7 minutes never mind 20!! Can't blame them though tbh, couldn't have been nice watching your team get totally destroyed in the first 5 minutes.

I was at Middlesbrough when they stuffed us 8-1 and not once did I think of leaving, nor did any other City fan from what I saw.

different when you're at home though, you don't expect to be smashed for 5 in the first half no matter how shit you are - again, a lot of them stayed and were singing til the end, and thats to be commended

why not stay and enjoy the world class talent on display from the opposition? sometimes you have to accept defeat and appreciate the talent on offer, they wont get much more talent from one team as they did from us yesterday.

I agree that those who stayed, and sung, to the end should be proud of themselves, but this thread is about those who left with less than quarter of the game played. They should be ashamed of themselves IMO.

Good point. I remember Arsenal destroying us at Maine Road, I think they were 3-0 up inside half an hour, and most of us stayed to watch the talent on display and applaud them off at the end.

Probably the new 'fans' who came after promotion + a few of the miserable type gits we all have to suffer. The others did them proud.

I was in Platt Lane that day. It was the Henry show. They were 4 up at half time. He got a standing ovasion when he was subbed.

North Stand that day and it was the best atmosphere at Maine Road for many a long year. 4-0 down by half time but we didn't concede in the second half. Remember the Arsenal fans applauding us at the end. Great day.

Definitely leaving after 6 minutes KK on the telly. One of them who did, rang up Five Live at half time from the pub, while I was driving to work!

I have relatives in Burnley and they were well up for this game. Wayne, my cousins husband was texting me before kick off from his local all very excited trying to wind me up etc. His texts stopped for some reason so i rang him when number 6 went in. He was on the fields near his house walking the dog!!! He even left the pub after half an hour!!

They did it to us twice, in consecutive home games (split by a relegation). I think the first time they were 4-0 up in about 20 minutes. The second time, we were more confident and they were 4-0 in about 17. Every time we got a corner, they looked like they'd score, due to the pace of the likes of Henry, Pires, the underpants bloke etc.

In both of those games, they could have got double figures, but eased off once they'd confirmed the win. There are times you just have to sit back, accept they are much better than you and think that one day, you might be that good. It's taken a long time, but we're nearly there.

In response the original question, the Burnley fans who left giving their team verbals deserve the relegation they will get. Those who remained were magnificent and deserved the goal they got.

Something that pisses me off about all this "shit fans, leaving early" bollocks championed by dicks like Alan Green.

This used to happen all the time when I was younger. At Maine Road, we'd be getting dicked 3-0 at home by QPR so everybody would simply piss off to the bars in the North Stand and get pissed talking City. It used to be an accepted practice back then. Why not anymore? Why the slightest movement from your seat now determines you to be a fairweather fan?

I'd be very surprised if all those Burnley fans pissing off after 6 minutes actually left the ground.

I thought it was pretty sad but to be fair they probably thought we were gonna go into double figures and didn't wanna sit there and watch that. I also think if it wasn't for the weather we could have easily done it too..
