Linked with him today, no quotes nothing, but would be an excellent signing especially for 6m
Manchester City could antagonise neighbours Manchester United once again this summer as they plan a surprise move for Bayern Munich striker Ivica Olic.
The Croatia star was United's tormentor in chief over the two legs of their Champions League quarter final and his dogged style has impressed City coach Roberto Mancini.
City are blessed with good attacking options but they will overhaul their squad this summer and some star names will be sacrificed for players deemed to have better attitude and work ethic.
No nonsense: Olic
Olic fits the bill and Bayern would be willing to listen to offers of around £6m. He joined on a free transfer from Hamburg in 2009 and signed a three year contract but Bayern want to attract bigger names and will need to raise revenue to pay the fees and wages required.
Olic, like Carlos Tevez, would be an instant favourite at Eastlands and would fit in easily with his selfless attitude.

He has never really been that prolific. Would be decent signing as a squad player but I'd say we need better players than him to make that final push.
I'd rather we go for Edin Dzeko. That boy is REALLY REALLY good. Been watching German Bundesleague quite alot this season on Eursport 2 and it's not just his goal scoring but his overall play as well. Him or Benzema.
Olic might be decent to give competition to Bellamy et all on the wing if we are going to go 4-3-3 next season.

Very similar to Tevez in style, good skills, works his socks off and scors important goals. If we are to sign another striker, I'd prefer a very experienced one or young & promising that don't mind playing a bit part role. Tevez & Ade will be class for us in the coming years, the only ones who could get ahead of them are the very best imo.
Olic is neither of the above

I wanted Olic two seasons ago. Now we have Tevez we should go for something different. Dzeko for me.

THe only striker we should be looking to sign this summer is Higuain, he would slot right in with bellers and tevez - Dzeko is a good backup plan

I like Olic. Could be a great squad player.

Seems Ok - but for me we have enough squad players - our summer signings need to be top players - not more pretty good players - the swuad is more than big enough at the moment

Quite right again mate. In the words of the great Mark Hughes (more or less). - "we want to improve the squad with players who are better than what we have at present". Still applies.
´Squad players` - ugh!

Not good enough for Bayern, then not good enough for City.
In a year or two's time we will be pasting Bayern in Europe.

I don't understand this "SQUAD PLAYER" thing. Good enough to sit on the bench is NOT good enough.
At some point a squad payer will be called on to play on the pitch, if he's only good enough for the bench, what use is that?
We need a large squad, with enough strength in every position to have a TOP player coming off the bench.

I agree with you here however most players if good enough will not be happy with the bench I guess it's the main problem with all teams and no team can solve that issue. However if you get a few great players happy to sit on the bench like Bellers who is just happy to be there then your laughing.

Personally I think there's no chance of City going for him - sounds like a made up media story to me "he scored twice against Utd so CIty want to buy him cos he hates Utd" etc etc.
He's a nice troublesome player that can create from nothing but I'd rather Torres.
Good as a wind up all the same

At the level we want to be at they will all be having to sit on the bench at some point. For example we have used Tevez far too much at times, whatever he himself thinks. When you do this you risk injury - Rooney is injured because he´s had to do too much work in the last 3 months cos old Taggart cant afford NOT to play him. RSC should never in a million years have started against Everton away, because he was injured (calf) the weekend before and the Paraguay doc said he needed 2 weeks rest at least. But we had no choice (except Robinho, nuff said).
It´s common practice at the bigger/CL clubs, it´s all about using the squad properly.
