How amazing

The rag gave Fred a 10 point start in the league.

Considering we're currently 11 points behind with a game in hand, if we won that and beat the rags at home this weekend we'd be 5 points behind and therefore fred would be 5 points in front.

Fred is obviously (as we all were) rather conservative when asked about top 4 the fact that we're favourites right now with a handful of games to go speaks volumes of what Mancini has done for this club.

We were all conservative about our chances of making top four this season at the beginning of the season. That changed someway into it, when it became clear Liverpool were in turmoil.

Au contraire Dubbers.

So far under Mancini we've played 16 games and gained 33 points. This averages him 2.0625 points per game.

Goal difference wise under Mancini we've scored 36 goals in 16 games (2.25 goals a game average) and we've conceded 14 goals in the same 16 games as well (0.875 goals a game conceded).

Therefore in 16 games our goal difference is +22.

Over the course of a season:

Points - 33 points divided by 16 games x 38 games = 78.375 points

Goal difference - +22GD divided by 16 games x 38 games = +52.25 goal difference

Since 4th spot enabled Champions League in 2001-02 season here's the number of points needed for 4th spot:

72 - 2008-09
76 - 2007-08
68 - 2006-07
67 - 2005-06
61 - 2004-05
60 - 2003-04
67 - 2002-03
71 - 2001-02

Based on what Mancini has brought so far in his 16 games over the course of a season pro rata he would provide us with Champions League football every time.

He's done well but he didn't get all those points on his own...

Anyway, that's another debate. I meant that the expectation at the start of the season when that bet was made changed due to Liverpool's decline.

What an absolute arsehole, with his pre-printed pictures. Let's see if he has the bottle to turn up in May - and if he does you can bet he'll bang on about the fucking League Cup like it's the best cup competition in the world!

Fred is a family friend and a bigger Blue you could not find, and trust me come the revisit of this at the end of the season Fred will make his point a lot more forcefully!

"Owen will score more goals than Tevez" - thats a classic, absolute gem and right up there with the "not a goalscorer" and "no end product" crap that came out when Carlos left them as they desperately scrambled to keep him and agree a fee, which they did and never let them forget it. Only after he left did they proclaim they didn't want him anyway.

For the record:

Michael Owen (league):

Played - 19

Goals - 3

Carlos Tevez (league):

Played - 30

Goals - 22

And we all know one of Owen's was fiddled....

Says it all.

I really want to see that return show - that guy's gonna look like a fucking idiot.

As will Merson, Baconface, Benitez, Moyes, the cunts from the Sunday Supplement and all the media fuckwits that said we wouldn't challenge for shit this season.

is this list the points gotten by the 4th placed team or is it 1pt more than the team that got 5th each year?

cos if it is the first of those then it is not the number of points you need to get 4th.

just thought i would point that out for what it is worth
