Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!
by Ted Hughes » Tue Apr 13, 2010 10:54 am
Of course I'm talking about that England legend & world class fullback; Sir Gary.
After the obvious folly of playing Rafael against Munich, surely Sir Alex owes it to the football world to let this living legend wear the red shirt one more time in the City where he is so respected?
Surely he won't have this great warrior skulking on the bench like a frightened schoolgirl hiding behind her mother's skirts? He may lack a little pace but I'm sure his strong heart would be pounding & his lungs bursting with pride as he chased Craig Bellamy down the wing. Can it be fair to deny the great man this opportunity? Surely his manager won't be so disrespectful to this paragon of football virtue to deny him his one last day in the sun, against the world's richest team? He is after all being talked about as a possible world cup player for England once more; he must still be up to the job?
Surely Sir Alex won't be SCARED TO PLAY GARY NEVILLE AGAINST CITY?
All right minded football fans should open their hearts & join in the chorus; "WE WANT NEVILLE.. WE WANT NEVILLE"

You could just imagine what would be going through is mind up against Bellers or Johnson - he would be skinned alive - and of course not much comfort if he tracks inside a bit!!

Does anyone think Rafael can match Jinky or Bellamy for pace either? Doesn't matter who he sticks there, they are in for a hell of an afternoon.

No but it would be a nice way for him to sign off. We could wave goodbye to him & give him a rousing send off as he's replaced in the 2nd half.

if he doesn't select neville, the 'we want neville chant' would be a good one, sung repetitively to wind the little gobshite up.
After the ball was centred, after the whistle blew...

Would be great on the coaching staff in all honesty - experience and leadership.

Rafael already gifted us a penalty in the Carling Cup first leg for fouling Bellamy, so whoever plays there for the scum will be in for a rough afternoon.
