21st Anniversary Of The Hillsborough Disaster

Postby King Kev » Thu Apr 15, 2010 1:14 pm

It's hard to believe it's been 21 years. My memories of hearing about it and later watching it on TV are still very vivid.

RIP the 96.

RIP.

Shocking shocking day.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

so true, i was 15 and playing out, it was a hot day i remember, i came in at about 2.45pm to watch Grandstand and it was all happening live on tele, as first i thought the liverpool fans were being hooligans and trying to get over onto the pitch, but then there were bodies on advertising boards being carried away and reality hit me hard, i hope i never see such horrible scenes at a football stadium again. RIP the 96.

i wish people would let this go, it's a tragedy but accidents happen. no one deserves to die at a football match, but people need to move on. RIP though a terrible day.

Was watching City at Blackburn that day, we lost 4-0! I remember at half time them only giving the score out for the other semi-final and no one knew why. Just assumed the Forest v Liverpool game was running late.

It was only at the end of the game when people started getting back to the cars did we find out what had happened. Truly shocking.

RIP.

I remember being highly pissed off after watching City's lame 0-4 defeat at Blackburn (Gerry Taggart at right-back for Cliff's sake - El Mel, what were you thinking?). Hearing the news on the wireless after the game did a grand job of putting things into perspective.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think it's the deadliest incident to have happened in Britain in my lifetime.

Plane crashes? Lockerbie?

A bit grim this.

I was playing cricket at Arnold School in Blackpool at the time the reports started coming thru.

Was a very bizarre day and I recall it vividly

that's not brave at all
walking into a pub in liverpool saying that is brave
spouting off anything you like on an internet forum is nothing
