Somehow we will have to find the strength to go on without him and his all out 100% commitment to the cause, especially away from home.

That's a shame. I suppose thats it for his City career then. Sad to see him go but obviously we have better at the club now (and will surely bring in even better over the summer).

Has been one of my favourite players over the past couple of years due to his sheer directness when he gets the ball and the fact he just twats it when he gets the chance.
He was also superb for that first 6 months under Sven and had a brief renaissance under Bobby but has been unlucky with injuries.

Hope he says farewell to the fans at our last home game (unlike that ungrateful twat Elano last year) as I know there will be a few more who'll be sprry to see him leave (maybe no Piccs).

I would keep him. His speed terrifies defenders, he takes men on and runs at them and past them, and he has a hell of a shot in him. City will need to use the full sqaud next season with Euro games included, and Petrov will give the starting wingers a rest. Besides, do City have two wingers? AJ plus who? SWP could be gone, Bellamy's already saying he's only got two seasons left in him and one bad injury puts him out, and Weiss might or might not make the grade. Keep Rigsby around.

Takes men on and beats them? i think you're mixing him up with somebody else.
I will give him a round of applause if he appears and then be glad to see the back of him. No passengers needed now thank you.

Daily Mail.....and their City mole is often quite good it seems

Martin Petrov will miss Manchester City's four remaining Premier League games due to a knee injury.

The Bulgarian winger confirmed to reporters: 'My season is over.

'I wanted to play in several matches at the end of the championship but the doctors said I should take a rest for three more weeks.

'I'm very disappointed,' added the 31-year-old, who underwent surgery in Barcelona after being hurt during City's 1-1 draw at Stoke City in February.

The former Wolfsburg and Atletico Madrid winger joined City on a three-year deal in 2007 but his spell has been marred by serious injuries and he was not given a regular start under former coach Mark Hughes.

Petrov, capped 77 times by his country, is still to announce where he will be playing next season after he turned down a contract extension.

If he's turned down a new contract then 'arry must have tapped him up to go to Spurs.

Maybe that's the reason we're not playing him? City and Spurs Vying for fourth, Petrov going to Spurs bearing down on the West Ham goal on the final afternoon with five minutes to go.

What do you think he would do?

He was sat in the hospitality seats behind me in the family stand at the derby and was laughing and joking with his mates/family at half time. If he doesn't appear in a City shirt again then I wish him all the best for the future.

I will forever remember his several attempts at shooting with his right foot, including one mis-hit shot that dribbled past David James

Martin was a bit of a favourite of mine but hey ho, players come and players go (that wasn't intentionally meant to rhyme)
You would think someone like West Ham would be all over him if they manage to stay up

At this point I'd rather have Petrov and not SWP as the winger sub on our team
