Joe gonna get his chance but too hard to say right now I think Joe catching up to Shay real fast and it getting tough to call. Beginning of the season it was a no brainer but now... Too close to call.

Ideally Joe will play all our world cup games, and we'll have to play him next season.

Given isnt that old for a keeper, he has mega experience and age shouldnt be hampering him. Its a nice situation to have!

Better than the days of Andy Dibble or Paul Cooper?

Given for me, still a far superior goalkeeper.Having said that im really happy with the prospect of having Joe to fill his boots in the future.Quality young goalkeeper.

A poll might be in order

Really! well if he had it would have been on a par with Banks one against Pele in the 1970 world cup and some say that was the best save ever.Just my opinnion mind.

Was thinking of posting something similar myself, it would have been nothing short of a miracle. He reacted very quickly but sadly it was just well out of reach.

Given is crap coming off his line...two goals which could have been prevented, even if he'd had a bit of a flap

1:...Rooney Header in CCSF2
2:...Jeromes header last week.

If it was me, on current form I'd pick Hart every day of the week and twice on sundays

Shay is a good golkeeper but Joe is much better just now and he's younger than the Irish. No doubt for me, Hart must come back at Eastlands in next season!

Problem for me is, for how long can we keep denying Joe Hart the No.1 spot in our team without him wanting a permanent move away?

My biggest worry is that Arsenal will want to buy him in the summer because they really really need a good goalkeeper.

Shay is a very good keeper imho but I don't want to lose Joe Hart.

This is the problem I see too.

However, I'd reckon Wenger may put in a cheeky bid for Sint-Truiden's keeper, Simon Mignolet, over the summer.

This is an old man's post. I would stick with Shay Given and tell Hart "your time will come." Goalkeepers get better with age and are less affected by the years than players in other positions. But we live in a time when people want things right away, and Hart wants first-team football right away. So the question is whether what City can pay him to sit on the bench and only play the occasional League Cup game will settle his impatience. I just hope he doesn't force the issue by requesting a transfer.

Shay for next season. Hart for 10-12 years after that!

Joe Hart IS the future of english goalkeeping imo.

Also a quick note to the club, should they be reading this thread. Joe Hart is not for sale, not one fan would be pleased to see him leave, tell Arsenal and all the others who come sniffing around for his services to fook right off!

Joe is a keeper (see what i did there ;D)

Joe Hart, no doubt for me. Would of kept had him as our number 1 this season too. Will provide some stability in the back line unlike Given who we are going to have to replace in another season or two. Plus Hart is still young and should improve with experience while Shay is at his peak and would think that he can only start losing his edge from here.

Bring Hart back for next season but make him earn his place in the Team. i.e. Carling Cup Matches, less significant European clashes.

I fear if we send him out on loan again then he'll not feel the loyalty to come back.
