POLL: Our two cup final games

Postby MaineRoadMemories » Sun Apr 25, 2010 11:00 am

Villa and Spurs at home. Winners take all - can't ask for a better end to the season really.

But what will be our points haul? As with all games of this importance I can see all three teams looking cagey and not full of free-flowing football. I can't quite decided between 2 points or 4 points (beating Villa).

I've gone for 4. I've got one of those feelings that we'll see a score draw against Villa (I hate those longball tactics) which will mean we'll go all out against Spuds.

A win at West Ham would seal it for us.

I fully expect Vladi Weiss , if given the chance next week, to help City out.

I don't think Spurs will beat Bolton.

Also. If Ledley King plays on Saturday , will his bones hold up for Wednesday ?.

We'll beat Villa but lose to Spurs. 3points then.

6 points for me unless we play for a draw against spurs like we did yesterday against Arsenal. Honestly though with our home record I cannot see us losing any of the games.

Hmm our recent home record against decent teams is 0.0 , 0.2 and 0.1 so I am not too sure about your logic there. I agree the comment though unless we play for a draw( cautiously) For me if we play to our strengths and play well it's 6 points, if we play cautiously I fear the worst and 1 point from the Villa game. The pessimist in me fears the worst.

4 points at best (3 against Villa and 1 against Spurs) and 1point at worst.
If we get the 4 points as said, then we go on to beat West Ham, Spurs also win their last game and both teams ending up on the same points and the same goal difference, who then will be awarded the 4th spot?

gone for 6, what else?

I dont think Villa are good enough, and depending how the game pans out we might well take them apart. Spurs on the other hand i think is going to be a different story and a tighter difficult game.. but we have as much chance of coming out on top than anything else. We will have to play as well as we are capable of in both though.

Bugger, Villa are now a point ahead of us which changes the game for them next week - they have everything to play for. Might vote for 2 points.

Villa have beaten Birmingham City today which still gives them everything to play for up until the end of the season. They'll come to City on Saturday with nothing but a win in their minds. Tottenham is still the tougher Match, though.

At the end of the day, we've beaten Arsenal and Chelsea at Home this season and almost held the RAGs to a draw. Arsenal weren't looking forwards to our visit yesterday. Do we truly have anything to fear?

4 points. Beat Villa and draw with Spurs. Anything less and we're not going 4th.

I've gone for 4. Don't fancy us against Spurs. But I reckon we'll still get 4th after they bottle it elsewhere.

6 points for me.

I think we will beat them both, Spurs had there little run of beating Arsenal and Chelsea and Villa have had a little run of winning games but i dont think either will be able to match us at home.

Two draws and two points for me, unless we can just switch it off and on when we feel like it - and if that's the case, why switch it off in the first place?

6 points. Mancini will unleash the hounds. Villa and Spurs are eminently beatable away from home. Theres a bunch of players in the squad who are highly motivated. This is the new City. I have the champers chilling.
