I'm going for the full monty...the whole 9pts....we will beat Villa convincingly. Scrape past Spurs in a tight game and then do what we need to do against the Hammers.

I've checked the league tables, looked at form, considered our mentality, studied our tactics and in honesty I HAVEN'T A FUCLING CLUE....
...My reasoning is totally based on bluster, bluff, hope, bias and a few well placed prayers....all that and my undying belief that someday, somewhere.....WE MUST...er,,.CAN...er...SHOULD...er...MIGHT.....Beyond that...WHO KNOWS.

We have had soo many "cup final" type games this season! not once have we ever actually looked like a team in a cup final! That phrase just pisses me off.

Taking the alternative view of it, I reckon that your challengers will win each game they have when they are not playing you.

So Spurs will beat Bolton and Burnley and Villa will beat Blackburn. However, only the Burnley game is rateable as reasonably straightforward; Bolton and Blackburn are fairly ugly teams, but they lay down for no-one.

That means, therefore, that you may have to win all of your games to overhaul Spurs...

Is that possible?

Villa are a pretty doughty defensive unit and have battering ram Carew up front to get in and amongst yours.
Spurs - as much as I am pained to type this - have a side that eclipses most if not all of their squads in the last decade or even longer.
And we are never more dangerous when we've nothing to bother playing for.

Reckon you'll beat us and one of the two others, getting a draw in the last game. Start praying to St Kevin of Davis...

They used to have a chant at Everton (when they were good) that went "Attack, attack - attack attack attack!" It's what City must do. City have been too cautious in games when all three points were there for the taking, when teams could have been finished off, and they have to play to their strengths now. They've got Bellamy, Tevez, Adebayor, and either AJ or SWP, all fast and skillful players, get them running at defenders and they could overwhelm Villa, Spurs, and West Ham, all three of them. So set them loose, Mancini, play like we did against Hamburg. I'm sure City can do it, though I'd be even more confident if they had Stevie Ireland at his best, dinking his passes through the middle and in the same kind of inspired form Elano was in in that Hamburg game.

Personally I have no idea. I think we have been playing quite well for the past month now but injury to Given puts everything in new light. I think we are capable of taking all six and I doubt we'd loss both of them so anything between 1 to 6 is possibility. The way I see it right now it's real roll of dice.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

At least we are still in the running. With best young Welsh manager in Europe we'd probably be fighting for 11th spot. Which apparently is huge improvement on 10th season before. Then again, I could be all wrong, Hughes sides are ALWAYS better in second half of the season. I was told so and I have no reason not to believe it.

Edit. Regarding the actual title of the topic and addition to my previous post. I actually think we have better chance winning Spurs than Villa. Spurs reckless style of play suits us better than Villa's. O'Neills sets his defence to sit deep and we are shit at scoring outside box.

i went for 3 point purely on the fact we are brilliant on game shite the other, tottingham seem to have one over us when we play them, we have to attack in both games and when we score keep biting at them for a full 90 mins!!!

So are you saying if we would've kept Hughes in charge then this is where we would be?

Bollocks mate. I think we'd be in 4th to be honest with you...

To be fair, Chris Coleman is the best young Welsh manager in Europe.

hopefully the keeper issue will make Villa just ever so slightly more inclined to try and attack and take advantage of the situation.. which i believe will play into our hands nicely..
