Spurs lead hosts of clubs chasing Richards

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Spurs lead hosts of clubs chasing Richards

Postby Mark (Blue Army) » Wed Apr 28, 2010 1:45 pm

Tottenham are leading the chase to prise Micah Richards away from Manchester City, skysports.com understands.

However, a host of Premier League clubs are ready to rival Spurs for the England defender.

Richards has come through the youth system at City, after joining from Oldham when he was just 14.

Now the 21-year-old is set to be at the heart of one of the summer's biggest transfer battles.

City are anything but keen to lose Richards, but are believed to be ready to consider selling - subject to who they sign in the summer.

And Spurs are understood to be hugely keen on securing Richards' signature.

But it is also understood that Arsenal, Liverpool and Aston Villa could also consider bids for Richards - who still harbours hope of making Fabio Capello's World Cup squad.

Silly season has officially started. We really need the money don't we, and of course we'd sell to Spurs who are a direct rival.

Contract for 3 more years so he's going nowhere unless it suits us. Fact.

Typical 'Arry story when we're playing them next week. There's always at least one.

You're thinking of Ireland mate.
But back to Micah I hope they don't get rid. Shown far more promise than Ned or most of our other academy graduates. Would be stupid to get rid to one of our main rivals and it's not like we need the money.

Apart from the silly shirt tugging, hes a top player whos vastly improved imo.
I want him to stay and fight for the right back slot with Ned.

I think there should be a ban on such speculative threads until the season is over.

It's quite tiring reading all the rehashed opinions about something that probably doesn't have any legs to stand on.

i say send him out on loan to a championship side where his size and power wont count for shit and he's forced to either sort his positioning out or spend the rest of his days playing for newcastle/norwich/some other shit team in some other shithole of a place=birmingham

if he was forced to learn the technical side of the game coupled with his natural athleticism he would be one of the best

Fucking Hell, whatever next? So, just before a big crunch match the media start the public storm again to try and undermine our plans, maybe turn heads in the camp.

Murdoch and crew, you are officailly the most hideous moron's I have ever known!

And for all those who feel the need to take heed of these articles, get yourself a glass of beer, can of pop or cup of tea and celebrate the Blue Revolution - it's coming you know ;-)

Is there a transfer window approaching????

I hate this time of the year, I immediately take any stories about players we are rumoured to be signing with a huge pinch of salt, yet, any stories about our players alwasy give me a pang in my stomach that it might be true! Like all these rumours about SWP, Ireland, Bridge, Bellamy, Ade and Tevez leaving. I would be annoyed/upset if ANY of those left, and now to see Richard's name in the mix just adds another name to the list of players I dont want to see leave the club!!!!

There is truth in this one... He would have moved there last close season had he himself not rejected the move.

All allegedly of course.

The media have been printin shit about us before every big game all season...I bet that Tevez interview was collectin dust for months whiles they wait to release it just before derby day..I can only guess most are rags..

The Tevez to Liverpool story actually had me doubled over with laughter..Yeah, If we dont get champ league he will leave the richest club in the world for a debt ridden one man band that are also not in the champs league ..I also cant see two guys lookin to sell a club bein willin to spend over £30 million on a player...Laughable material .

There will be more to come.
