Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini has expressed his admiration for Lazio defender Stefan Radu.
Lazio may have endured a difficult campaign towards the bottom of Serie A but Radu has continued to enhance his reputation with some impressive performances.
And reports have now emerged linking the Romania international with a switch to Eastlands this summer.
Mancini has a good knowledge of Italian football and is understood to be keeping tabs on the 23-year-old as he considers transfer targets.
"I like Radu a lot. He is a very interesting player, who is worth a lot in my eyes," Mancini is quoted as saying by Prosport.ru.
"He could be someone of interest to us during the next transfer period."[/quote]

I used to love Radu Stefan when he was coming up the ranks in Dinamo Bucharest. I haven't followed his progress once he moved to Lazio Rome in 2008. He's a left footed CB, can also play LB, played some games for the national team too. Might be an interesting option as a back-up, but I don't think he would improve our squad.
This story is probably made up by his agent, the same guy that launched the rumor of Adrian Mutu joining City.

I never thought I'd say anyone who tries to avoid touching the ball more with his right foot than Petrov but that feller makes Petrov look like two footed wonderboy. Loved the bit where he was dribbling past that Inter dude and did it all without even touching the ball with his right.

Exactly what i was thinking.
It's criminal how many pro footballers can make it without even having the simple use of their other foot to pass and shoot.
Give this lad a miss i say,or get him training with a brick on his left foot and learn to pass with his right.

I think you're all very picky, I counted several right foot passes - not a lot admittedly - but more than you usually get from Bridgey

Yeah, Bridge is 10 times worse in that aspect.

I don't expect leftback to be as good with either foot but someone like Taggart or Moyes will take two seconds look at his video and decide to switch wingers meaning they will be cutting in (=towards his right foot) all day. And watch the goals fly in.

I think he'll be awesome. Having said that, it could take him & Boateng a season to get used to the Prem, so we shouldn't expect miracles early on, just let them settle & rotate them within the squad.

Agreed, though he seems well suited to both the League and the style so I am hopeful.
