Training Friday 30/4

With the crappy weather ( come back now Dazby) I was thinking of giving today a miss especially as it was a 4pm start and quite possibly they wouldn't even go outside. But after the press stuff yesterday I thought I would go and see what was happening.

Very routine stuff it was too for the most part with everybody but Barry out. Barry did come out later and was working with a physio. No doubt doing a fitness test of some type.He will see if there is a reaction tomorrow before any decision is taken. My bet would be that he will be on the bench but it's a guess.

After the keep ball circles and some time with Mancini behind the fence they had a 10 a side game on a half a pitch to finish off with. Shame actually as I was watching the keepers when they were called over and it was fun watching Massimo firing in low shots from 18 yards with big cones on the ground in front of the keepers. All about reacting to deflections and again Fulop looked ok with good agility.

Anyway the match was fairly well contested with Stevie scoring the first goal , RSC equalised before a blinder from the new shooting star Nigel. A volley from the edge of the box past Fulop that flew in off the underside of the bar. Bellers then equalised before there was an unfortunate injury. It looked like nothing but he got a little treatment before being buggied away.

How did Tevez look? No different to any other time really I would say.He was busy in the game time and during all the warm ups stuff I thought the general banter seemed good and Tevez was , as ever part of that. I forgot a moment yesterday when Stevie needed a pee and just went to the fencing away from everyone. Spotted by Tevez who quickly grabbed a ball and hit it at him from 20 yards or so. Hit him too and Stevie just about managed not to turn round while in full flow.

Men of the match in the football were Vinnie on one side and Zaba on the other. Both never shirking tackling even in a practice scenario. Oh yes the injury was to Stevie

..

These reports have also shown why De Jong suddenly thinks he can score a goal.

Rumour on BM that the new training ground will have seats so that spectators can watch the team training (similar to Barca's apparently) .

The 'Douglas Higginbottom Stand' surely?
