Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Daft Question I know but if you could pick one to come to city which would you have?? Read this question in SSN sports column and thought it was a quality question. I would pick Messi because of what he would bring to our squad.
Original question was here -

None of them, I don't reckon either will make it at City.

Mourinho.
"Like all bullies, they've just found out that there is a much bigger guy in town, someone who is richer and more powerful than their worst nightmare. And this smiling Arabic assassin is intent on stealing all the treasures they've nicked off everyone else, and pulverising them into commercial and footballing oblivion as he does so."

Very easy.
Mourinho takes success and a winning mentality wherever he goes.
Messi is a Johnny-come-lately; just the latest media monkey. Take him away from his Barca comfort zone and he would be struggling. At Barca, Messi has his protectors and idolaters and he revels in it. Away from Barca and he's a show pony, a sniveling diving coward. and just another dime-a-dozen prima donna.
JM, please.

Mourinho. Messi is possibly my fav player but him alone would not make us the best team around, as his games with Argentina show. Without a system to exploit his strenghts, he loses a lot of his efficacy, like most world class players, so a top manager is still key and Mourinho is a top manager.

Messi every time. Mancio is a better fit for us than the egotistical wanker that is Jose.

I concur with Dazby. Having Messi in a team brings an extra 5-10 out of a team when Is on form. Yes Mourinho stiffled Barca, and has. Winning mentality, but I too would rather the simple calm serenity of Mancini, rather than the blustering ego of Mourinho.
One day Mourinho will be at a club and he'll fall flat on his face, and I think it will be at Real if he moves there next season

When have we ever had the worlds greatest player (in his pomp)at our club. Jose is a staunch toss pot who thinks he is bigger than all the clubs he's managed. Can't argue with his track record, but he is a horrible human being. Messi and tevez up front for me.

It won't be long before this kind of "either or" kind of question will be consigned to the history books for us - the realistic answer will soon be both! Compromise will be a thing of the past - feel it!

Wow. I couldn't disagree more about Messi. He is THE real deal. Truly great footballer and once he is finished will be rightly remembered alongside true greats of the game. To think he is 22 right now is simply mind blowing.
This topic kind of reminds when we were kids and we'd argue which was better striker, Gary Lineker or Karl Heinz Rummenigge.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

Messi. Don't want to see a man who has become a parody of himself anywhere near our club, unless it's bringing Inter or Madrid to Eastlands in champs league next year. hate the football he plays, used to like him as a bit of a character but he clearly has enjoyed those kind of plaudits too much and its gone to his head. he creates controversy for the sake of it. if city won anything with him it would take the shine off it for me personally and i wouldn't be inclined to spend money on match tickets. Watched Messi last night and the guy is just unreal. Along with the best ball control in the world by far, he has that Argie work ethic. Can't see him coming next season, unfortunately Mourinho is a genuine possibility.
