Rafa & Mourinho 2010-11

Is it just me of is anyone else asking the question why?

Why would Rafa go to Juventus - they have no money and no Champions League. Liverpool might be happy for him to go as this would save them around £16m in pay-off costs but Rafa choosing to go - not sure at all.

Why would Mourinho go to Real - they like to play attractive attacking football, IMO this does not fit with Mourinho's style and the fans/Board would be looking to make a change even if they won matches. IMO history says this.

Not so sure on the Rafa to Juve link as Juve and Liverpool are both in similar circumstances ('big' club not qualifying for Champs League). Unless he's been promised money to spend, which Liverpool do not have.

Jose to Real makes sense to me. I don't think attractive football is the most important thing to Real. I think winning is most important. They are currently number 2 to Barcelona in Spain (and Europe) and Jose would almost certainly win trophies with them. Plus he'll be given money to spend. I also don't think Jose plays particularly ugly football. Yes his priority is to win, but his Inter side have played some good football in the Champs League this year, particularly in their away match with Chelsea where they were brilliant.

Mourinho may be suited to Real right now because they need to outdo Barca. If he goes there, wins a few titles & maybe the chump's league, then they can sack him for being boring after a few years & that would suit him as he can come to England then.

I still think he'll be here next season if he agrees to take the job but his success in the chumps league & the Real situation may scupper that, as we'll probably have to have a decision very soon. Can't see him making that decision for some time so we may have to drop the idea, which is fine by me.

Mourinho at Real Madrid seems a little far fetched, although the deciding factor may well be the Champions League. Real supporters have been desperate for their tenth title, la decima or the 'Tenth Symphony', as they call it. In European terms, Real Madrid are no better than Olympiakos, PSV or Stuttgart: they can get into the group stage easily and get out of their group AND NOTHING ELSE. Since they last won the Champions League, Real have been quite easily eliminated by Juventus (twice), AS Monaco, Arsenal, Bayern Munich, AS Roma, Liverpool and Olympique Lyonnais- the last five being in the first knockout round. To recover their European reputation, they may just hold their collective noses and take a chance on the 'Special One'.
As for Benitez and Juventus, to say Juventus do not have money is terribly unfair. They are a club who will not go into debt, however, to sponsor a title push, as dictated by the reigning Agnelli family/FIAT. As for their spending, Juventus spend 52 million euros this past summer to aquire Diego from Werder Bremen, Felipe Melo from Fiorentina and Fabio Grosso from Olympique Lyonnais. This is a club that will spend to be competitive and would probably open the vault for Benitez. He would only need to deliver success and quickly. Juve have not recovered (or won anything apart from Serie B) since Calciopoli and are desperate to reassert their claim to being Italy's most successful club. I'd almost hope Mourinho stays at Inter to clash with Benitez at Juventus. Could be very amusing...

There's speculation Juve would offer him a large transfer fund giving him a chance to rebuild, so lack of Chump's league next season wouldn't be an issue really. I don't see Mourinho going anywhere other than Real next season IF he goes anywhere, he's basically running out of clubs that can afford him. (I also see Avram Grant going to Fulham IF Hodgson replaces Rafa at Liverpool)

Rafa hasn't left yet for 1 big reason.. A big fat pay off he has got like 3 years left on his contract?? If he gets sacked he is gonna get a small fortune out those Americans and he knows it. He is no doubt a greedy cunt and wants his payout before he goes anywhere. As for Jose Real would be a terrible move for him as like with Chelsea the owner chooses who to buy at that club not the manager and we all know how that turned out at Chelsea.

Mourinho would go to Madrid to win the title in Spain, He wants to be the first manager to win the English, Italian and Spanish titles. He hates Barca, It’s also in his interest to only be there for one year or two which is quite along time for your average Real Madrid manager. He’s waiting on Ferguson retiring to take over United.

Rafa is still held in high regard by Liverpool fans but he is living on borrowed time. It’s always a good idea to leave while your still thought of highly. He know there is no chance of ever challenging for the title or winning the Champions League at the moment. With that current squad and a lack of money anyone who takes over from him is going to have one hell of a job on their hands.

Madrid have a record of sacking managers regardless of the trophies they win, if the fans don't like the brand of football being played or the players being picked then the coach will be on his way sharpish even if they beat Barca

Crazy talk. Real being similar to fucking Olympiakos or PSV. Absolute crazy talk.

Real Madrid are GIANT club, the most succesfull club in the history of football. And that is no coincidnce, The resources are humungous. They have just had series of second rate managers and the Chairman has had too much to say in player policy. Jose himself has said that he has THREE aims in football left, to go to Spain and win the league there (meaning he'd win all the major leagues in Europe), come back to England and do it all over again and somewhere along the line manage Portugal. NOW is his opportunity to move to Spain and do it there and there are no better places than Real Madrid. Furthermore, Jose very much hasn't forgotten how Inter supporters treated him in the beginning and in all likelyhood when he has proven them to be clowns will never go back. So going to Real isn' far fetched but very likely.

Juventus are financially in shit big time. Their fortunates are tied to how well Fiat are doing and they are in SHITE. Under Sergio Marchonne the have made HUGE investments on car industry during this past year and it can be described as bet with poor odds at best. They don't have mega money, certainly not the kind of money Rafa is always looking for, to spend. Simple as that. Rafa will go there because that's his chance to resurrect his career and there will most certainly NOT be offers from better clubs. Anyone who will do their background search on Rafa carefully enough will take a pass on him.

Most scouse fans I know don't think highly of him anymore and want him out before the new season begins.
