It was in the sunday times and gave a list of the top 50 earners playing the game.Quite a few city players on it 7 in total if you include Robinho.
Only Barcelona and Chelsea had as many players with seven each.

Our players involved were
6.Adebayor £7.4m
8.Tevez £6.9
16.Toure £5.6
20.Robino £5.2
26. Barry £4.8
26.Vieira £4.8

that certainly explains why Tevez and Ade are at City. No one else would have paid them anything like that after the seasons they had in the last campaign.

that wage for Wayne Bridge might be borderline criminal if we're honest with each other...same for Barry. Vieira must just be the wage he's on at Inter, right?

Toure's prollee been worth 50% of the wage he's on, although i don't think we've seen his best work earlier in the season...he's done a bit better lately, but all in all he wasn't a real upgrade over Dunne.

Wonder what this summer will bring?

cheers

It's all fine and well as we can afford to pay these wages, but the moment we want to offload any of them we'll have a problem. It's quite likely we'll have to pay a portion of their wage for the duration of the contract even when they move.

No endorsements though.. They included them ours would probably be a lot lower as players like Beckscum etc.. live off those things and most the English big shots like Lampard do off there adverts..

I take it this list is gospel then?

I certainly don't believe it anyway.

It's not as simple as all that. We desperately needed a half-decent LB at the time and Bridge was the only one available as surplus at Chelsea - haven't found anyone better since, though hopefully this summer...........

So as we needed to get him, we had to offer him more than Chelsea were paying. If City hadn't done that we would still be playing Ball and Garrido, and we would have had less points.

We will be in a stronger position when we achieve world domination of course, but whilst on the climb we have to pay over the odds, allowing lazy journos to attack us for doing it.

And Barry will be with us all the way mate.

The thing is, these lists are just estimations and based on rumours about weekly wages. The reality could be VERY different. The terms of different contracts vary ALOT. There are performance related bonuses and so on and so on. Without actually seeing the wage bills of players, those are just guestimations at best of times, rubbish guesses based on rumours at worst.

I've spotted an error in the list.
