Fulop appreciation thread

Postby Fidel Castro » Thu May 06, 2010 1:40 am

Thought he was awesome tonight. Looked like he was going to shit himself everytime he got a back-pass but made 3 world class, and I really do mean world-class saves. One scary moment when he kicked the ball against a spurs striker but otherwise very solid and of course those 3 great saves. Can't have been easy for him filling in for us under so much pressure and tbh I thought he looked a bit pooh against Villa but was out best player against the wallbuilding countrystealing cunts imo. At least you can leave our club with your head held high Fuloppy!

second this

i wouldn't judge a playr from two games, but from the two games he had to drop into! would say he showed some very good qualities.. not least once again good distribution. Movement and collecting within his area was also faultless.. better.. he was on the case all the time

Sign him and give Joe some competition and let them learn form each other...

Me too, thought he had a brilliant game, I just wish our forward line had played as well. Top man.

As well as those three, there was the deflected shot that he somehow managed to get his hands up to - sadly it found it's way to Crouch for their goal though, but I'm still not sure how he managed to palm it away in time (and I've seen the replay a few times)

Did you think he did well to palm the ball into the danger zone for the goal? A goal that was merely a matter of time, granted, but come on, it was poor goalkeeping that.

If it wasn't off a deflection I'd agree with you. In that instance though he showed great skills to keep the ball out.

Overall, a shame he had to palm the ball at Crouch for the goal, but score could've been loads worse if not for some world class saves.
Can leave with head held high, imo.

True but youve got to have noticed that he kicking was absolutely apalling. Dont think he found a blue shirt once. I suppose we expect too much of adebayor to actually time his jumps and win a header against people a foot smaller than him though.

I thought he had a great game. We could do with signing him up as Given will be out Until the Autumn, and I think he's better than Taylor.

Three top keepers can't be too bad can it?

I am not convinced he had a full view of it, fucking Bridge did an Ole and moved out of the way of the ball, clearly was screening Fulop, and that ball was a missle. Combine the pace of the ball and the pussy Bridge was, not much else he could have done with it.

I would be proud to have him as our back up keeper next season if Shay moves on.

He had a great game but the goal was largely down to him imo. As it was it made no difference anyway as we didn't score ourselves & a draw was no use whatsoever so there's no real blame for anything or hard luck stories.

thought he had a blinder.. and together with being dropped right in the deep end into a game like that was all the more impressive.
He was sold a bit short with a couple of unecessary back passes.

He also did well in his area.. the two time VK clobbered it out, he had it covered anyway.
Came off his line confidently and commited when needed.

well done lad you played as well as everyone else on that pitch

He earned his pay last night, fair play to him for that but given the result I'd give Gunnar a run out at West Ham now
