saying "this is not said with malice towards man city" is a little akin to saying "I'm not rascist..BUT"

Tbf he's just saying that City will end up in the Chumps lg anyway, so for neutrals who like more competition, having Spurs competing there may strengthen them & make for a more exciting league in the future, with more teams aiming for the top.

I don't think he's criticising City & if we were looking at it from the outside at another club in our financial position, we may have felt the same. He is a West Ham fan so I don't think he has any love for Spurs over us!

Thats how I read it as well, it was actually more of a compliment than anything, saying we will get CL soon and once we do teams like Spurs won't stand a chance.

That article didn't irk me one bit.

He's right, it will make the league more exciting. Its not what we want to hear right now and fuck knows it will take me a while to get used to watching these crunch games, but that's what football is all about and if the league is tighter, there'll be more of these kind of matches, so in the long run its better.

Even in the future, if we do win everything known to man, we HAVE to lose some of these kind of games to make the whole thing worth bothering about. If we just cruise to title after title without competition it will become soulless. The stronger the competition, the more we'll enjoy winning it. The defeats make the victories sweeter.

Look at how desperate the rags fans were to beat us in the cup compared to their usual half hearted efforts. Competition is better for everyone.

Why should I give a monkey's about the league, English football or entertainment or competition or any of that shit? I want a successful City. WHo comes second behind us is of no conseqeuence.

If none of that matters then why bother to watch the games? We could just read the results & so long as the number after City's name was higher than the number after the other teams name we would all be happy.
