City and Chelsea plan out the summer

One for the conspiracy theorists from the Tele. Having met Milan, Barca and the like, we are now another rich club, hopefully with a view to ganging up on the red debtors (all 3):

Was peace pact on the menu for transfer rivals?

Spotted having lunch at the swanky San Carlo restaurant in Manchester – a favourite for managers and players – on Tuesday were Chelsea chief executive Ron Gourlay and Manchester City's so-called football administrator Brian Marwood.

The official line from City is that the two were simply meeting for a routine catch-up but given the clubs have already been in competition to try to sign Liverpool's Fernando Torres, and could both be big spenders very soon, it would be interesting to know what was on the agenda and whether there was a transfer pact among the pasta?
“I may be drunk, Miss, but in the morning I will be sober and you will still be ugly.”
