Spurs without Gomes..

Spurs Just got stuffed 4-2 off Burnley without Gomes... I know its the end of the season but it was the same team that beat us minus Gomes. I honestly thought he was the reason we lost that game and today just proves he is the reason they got 4th over us as this season he has been working miracles for them. I hear he is shit on crosses but seems we couldn't catch him out last week so either he has improved on that part of his game or we are shit at crossing (today would prove the former).

Ok I'll bite. We didn't lose to Spurs because of Gomes but because Spurs were the better side.
Spurs didn't lose to Burnley because Gomes was missing but because they had already beaten City and didn't need the points.

Is that sufficient discussion?

^^^ this.

& you can argue it wouldnt have made much difference as he hardly made any "class" saves.

Matter of fact the only save of real note I remember him making would have been an own goal!

Centre backs where the difference for spurs last wednesday, not the gk

Sorry I won't make that mistake again when making a topic...

hehehe correct OD.

No Vhero sir I didn't say they lost on purpose but that they didn't need the points. There is a world of difference. Any player today who is in line to play in the world cup would also not be fully commited. It does show what can happen though when a team is up for it like Burnley ( for pride) against a far better side which doesnt put it in.

The on thing I can agree with though is " I wonder why I bother sometimes"

Ah see if you did your homework you would know different Spurs had the chance to come 3rd and above Arsenal (providing Arsenal lost) if they won. But people on here as usual avoid these fact just to have a go at me that's fine. If nobody want to actually look at the point I was trying to make that is okay. If you disagree that would be fine but people use this to take a shot and I am getting really fucking sick of the immature nature of posters on here.

Seems posters can't take the fact aswell we lost against the same team that got battered off Burnley minus Gomes well face facts we did! If you can't take that then that's your choice and if anybody is stupid enough to think they weren't fighting for those 3 points then you go and do that. I remember a few quality saves from our match that stopped us scoring that there goalie against Burnley would never have made he was pretty fucking shocking. So yeah instead of talking about football and comparing opinions take shots at me like you people always do as this is basically what people on here do now.

Think some people on here need a brief explanation as to what playing with a cigar on means. Spurs season ended in their heads at COMS and they got what they wanted. Once Ars went 3-0 up really quick they had zip to play for; if they had needed that game Gomes would have played, end of.

I echo the senitiments of Doug and Slim and do wonder about the sanity of some others on here.

Okay putting aside they didn't need the points for arguments sake that's why Gomes didn't play the rest of the side was still there strongest side. A top 4 side doesn't go from 0-2 up to 4-2 down in 45 minutes without a good reason and I was just trying to put across that reason was Gomes was missing and he is the reason they have been doing so well this season. They obviously went for it I mean they were 0-2 up at half time for christ sake! People are seeing blue here too much to see that facts and actually have a discussion.

it happens every fucking year on the last day of the season! spurs had achieved their ultimate objective and got CL football. do you really think they were that arsed about burnley. some of them were probably already on their holidays. it happens. get over it.

if you really think that gomes was the reason for losing to burnley then you are wrong. its a ridiculous theory.

Is this thread still going?

Maybe not having Gomez was definitely the reason that Spurs lost against Burnley. I think that's a fact.
