Goal of the season

Postby Scatman » Fri May 14, 2010 1:03 pm

Someone requested it in another thread, then nobody took him up on it. So here goes...

What gets your vote as the best goal scored this season for Manchester City?

I'll open the voting with Johnson v Sunderland. But only because I have a shocking memory.

A genuine contender I reckon - over the whole season from any team.

Has to come down to Bellamy at the swamp or Jinky's curler.

Bellamy's was more emotional, but Jinky's was just audacious, gotta go with Jinky.

lets make this a best goals of the season and then vote from there when we have remembered all the crackers..

i will add 3
Micah's run and in off a rebound off the post.. just for pure determination to get it in the net.

Ned's pass into space and then slotted in the corner.. for cheekyness or quick thinking

Tevez's half a toe roll in at Stamford Bridge.. again for determination and extending his leg by an extra 2 inches, also for the fact that it set the ball rolling in so many ways for that game and the second half of the season.

oh f*ck it one more.. Irelands run around everyone in the penalty box twice and then slot in.

So many top goals this season

( will try to remember the games for these and then they can be entered into a poll or comp or something )

Johnson's against Sunderland or Bellamy's cracker against the Scum are definitely the top contenders but i also liked the goal Tevez scored against Wigan to complete his hatrick after he skipped past two players and then sent the keeper the wrong way.

I'd go with that one. The occasion, the venue, the quality of the goal. Got to be Bellers at the Theater of Cunts.

Still not sure whether Adam Johnson was going for the top corner or trying to put the ball onto heads in the box. His reaction afterwards was a bit apologetic, though that could be with his family being Sunderland supporters. Either way Bellamy's run and finish were better to watch.

No doubt; it was a sensational goal.

But, I'd rate Bellamy's at OT just a shade higher in truth. The meaning of that game and the utter precision of the strike.

Is he seriously possibly leaving COMS this summer? I know his knees are close to knackered, but why would you sell him?

I dunno. Have to agree i can't see past Bellers at The Death Star, and Jinky v the Mackems (whcih he definitely meant IMO).

I'll go with the latter as it doesn't have a sour aftertaste.

For me its
1. Bellers' first against scum
2. Jinky at Sunderland
3. Tevez against Chelsk (surprised it was not in the youtube video). I remeber the comments that he had no right to score that goal !
Special mention to Ade for 2 or 3 of his goals this season. And also to Silvinho for his only goal.
