They are at it again - new fan's survey

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

They are at it again - new fan's survey

Postby Im_Spartacus » Tue May 25, 2010 12:35 pm

Must have something to do with me having recently renewed my season ticket, looks like a lot more fishing about the matchday experience which the club are determined to force on people.

If you havent had it, it is hereCLICKY

What is your preferred method of buying a ticket for City matches?
How do you rate our policy for distributing tickets for away matches?
How satisfied are you with the service we provide for buying match tickets?
How do you rate our policy for distributing tickets for Cup matches?
How would you rate the warmth and friendliness of our staff when you are buying a ticket?
How would you rate the knowledge and helpfulness of our staff in the Box Office?
How would you rate the speed of service when buying tickets for a match?
How would you rate the ease of finding out information about ticket sales, such as dates of sale and prices?
How would you rate the special offers we have introduced this season on ticket prices?
How would you rate the experience of making changes to a ticket purchase you have previously made, such as returning your tickets or moving seats?
Do you agree? "Manchester City's ticket service allows me to attend the matches I want to see at a price I can afford to pay"
To conclude this section we have provided some space for you to tell us about one aspect of ticketing that you would change other than price that would improve your experience.

During the season have you ever bought food & drink at the Stadium?
How often do you buy something to eat or drink at the Stadium?
How satisfied are you with quality of the food & drink available at the City of Manchester stadium on a matchday?
How satisfied are you with the speed of service of food & drink inside the Stadium on a matchday?
How do you rate the range of food & drink products that are currently available on a matchday?
How do you rate the quality of those products?
Have your say in the space below by telling us about one aspect of matchday food & drink other than price that you would like us to change.

City replica shirts are only available from CityStores and mcfc.co.uk. Has this prevented you from buying a shirt this season?
Have you ever used the CityStore at the Stadium on a matchday?
Thinking about the Club Store and what it sells, please tell us about one thing that you think we should change other than price that would make it better for you.

How would you rate your enjoyment of the football you have seen at the City of Manchester Stadium this season?
How would you rate the pre-match events provided by the Club this season, e.g. dropping the lights to play Blue Moon?
During matches, how would you rate the quality of the atmosphere generated inside the Stadium?
What would you like us to do before kick-off to get a really good atmosphere going inside the Stadium?

How do you travel to the Stadium when you're coming to see City?
Can you tell us what time you would usually arrive at the Stadium on matchdays?
Have you ever travelled home from a match by bus (public transport)?
Have you used one of the on-site Stadium car parks this season?
Do you usually buy a matchday programme?
Which of the following reasons best explains why you do not usually buy a matchday programme?

Can you tell us how much you agree with each of these statements (completely agree =10, completely disagree = 1)
It's more important to see a great game than to see City win
I'd miss a friend/relative's wedding to watch City play
As long as City win I don't care where the players come from
I plan my life around City matches
I'm just as happy to go and watch other clubs play
Being a City fan isn't about glory and success; it's about being part of something
City should bring back the old Maine Rd atmosphere
City has a great youth team
Things at City are changing for the better
City should buy more star players
There is more to Manchester City than a few star players
I'm concerned about how changes will impact on the Club

What is this "experience" crap, anyway? It's not a million miles off from buzz words or Office Speak. i.e. "Let's touch base."

It really concerns me that City are trying to plasticise everything about the Club. I'd expect these sorts of questions if I worked for McDonalds. The Ground has problems for me - but it needs to evolve slowly to become a home from home. Let us win things in it and make some history.

Hi Garry,I just wanted to shake your hand and ask you a question.I go to COMS as mucha as possible but sometimes I cannot leave the house as Sophie.....sorry..Sophie is my Cat...... needs a carer when Im away and sometimes I cannot find one.
My question is ; Is it possible to bring Sophie to matches at COMS in her kitten box and can she come in for free?

here's a question.....City street...all this new development jazz

WHY dont we have a decent boozer/eatery in the stadium development where blues can watch away games that are televised without having to have munichs and ambivalents surrounding them. Somewhere to properly get behind the team and get rangooned

Top idea that mate, I would quite happily travel to the place a few times a year to watch away games so long as they didnt take the piss with prices.

Funnily enough, all of the free text parts of the survey ask you to say how you would improve this or that but in big bold letters, "EXCEPT FOR PRICE".

Personally, a pie at £3.50 and a pint at £3.60 is frankly disugsting given that I was in Portugal the other week, and the very same Pukka pies were 1.50p having been shipped across Europe, so why the fuck can they not sell food made in England for a reasonable price. I have pretty much stopped spending in the ground, price, service are fucking appalling. They have also got this segregation of kids stand wrong. There are loads of us who sit round me who travel in groups, and of the 4 adults in our group of 7, there may 3 having a pint before the game and at half time, the same as every other area in the ground, yet apparently we dont get the better service/fast pourers or people who comprende english working on the bar.

What is massively popular abroad are fans social clubs actually attached, if not located within, the stadium itself. If we had one of these then i would definately go in there and watch our away games at every opportunity. A nice place decorated throughout with memorabilia from City's history that you could drink, eat & socialise with like minded blues. A totally rag-free zone where we could watch City's matches without me wanting to slap some gobshite, munich supporting prick.

I would read it that they are trying to understand what fans want so that they can deliver it to them

Only a few years ago we whinged because the club never listened to the fans - now - well its like carl says - broken britain - how dare they ask fucking questions cunts

and if plasticise it means bring the club into the 21st century and office speak means discuss the problem like some office executive type knob who actually wants to understand what they can do for the customer - then fuck it - its all gone to rat shit - lets start a club called football unity club manchester england

I realise we dont have any matches to complain about but come on - they're actually asking for your opinion

Can't believe people are moaning about this, I can translate matchday expierience for you tho'. "what do you want to have at the ground on matchdays". So if something pisses you off it affects your match day expierience.
I think it's great that they are communicating, excluding price was only mentioned once, I've had my moan to them now about the quality and price of food and drink as well as about things that are not upto scratch in other areas like switch the music and the pa off 10 mins before kick off.

It's just that I got the impression I answered those same questions before, many times, under different administrations.

"Excluding Price" was mentioned on every free text section, at the end of each section about tickets, service, cityshop, etc etc

Aside from my moan above, I didnt really have a right lot to moan about to be fair other than refreshments. I am happy with my ticket price for this year too, it is just the price once you are in the ground. After 2 pints, a couple of drinks, some chips and a drink for the little lad and something for me if I havent eaten, its £15, which makes the cheap kids tickets not cheap at all, so now I just dont pay it. I'm pretty sure that ruins some of my matchday experience, but instead the local chippy benefits with my lad's money.

It was telling on the section they asked you to rank aspects of your matchday experience, I actually only found 3 that were essential, atmosphere, a good match (not necessarily a good result), and being safe in the ground. All the other 10/15 things they mentioned really was on no interest at all.

The only reason I started the thread, was that
a: as John above says, I have been asked all this many times before
b: the last survey this administration did was having already made trhe decisions

That annoyed me about the survey too so in the end I put a comment about the section that I'd just done and then put something along the lines of "It's ok saying excluding price, but that's the main bug bear that most of the fans have. If the quality of the food matched the price there wouldn't be as much of an issue, but a cold hot dog for £4.50 funnily enough isn't value for money - but I'm guessing you'll ignore this as I'm not supposed to mention it"

No doubt my responses will not be taken into consideration

Mmmmm, 'Value for Money', 'Free Text'? These surveys are mean't for us to have a say year-on-year. If you don't want to complete it, then fair enough, it's your choice but in my eyes this is a chance for you to have your say and maybe change things for the better. It's like not voting then complaining about the party in power.

I've done mine and had my say, 'For better or for worse'.

I got it and I did it. Took a while but the last survey, I ended up clicking the wrong button and ending up back at the start. After that, the fuckers put the price of my seat up, so this time I made sure I finished it.

Anyone taking it, just make sure you read the questions properly. I got a feeling that some of them were a little misleading in the way you answered them.

I'm not doing it. Whatever I put they'll read it as 'I'm unhappy that I don't have to pay more for a season ticket & would like the parking costs to go up even more ridiculously than they already have. Also I want more face-painting & clowns before kickoff & at half time'.

At least that seems to be what they've interpreted from everyone's responses last time.

Haha.

I agree with you mate, if you dont make your comments, you can hardly say you havent been listened too.

The surprise with this survey, is that they seem to have some pretty firm commitments as to how things are going to be moving forwards - which I think is one of the reasons they pissed so many people off "consulting" us about things that had already been decided, no doubt so they could get the PR operation right on the launch day.

Also, I didnt have my patron code off hand, so I hope they can identify people's seats from my personal details, as I think they might be surprised that actually, people in the family stand like a beer, atmosphere etc, they just have to sit there as its the only place they can with the kids. I'm really not interested in a kiddies bar selling milkshakes and skittles, its not a school tuck shop, its a football ground, and I want my kid to learn to watch the football, not spend the game mithering me for more overpriced shit throughout the game.
