Well folks, the festival of football is just days away and it's time to show off your knowledge of the game and predict who the stars of the summer will be. I thought it would be good to have our own league to add an extra bit of interest so I've set one up for us on Sky Sports.

The league is there (Mancityfans.net) just click on the link, create your team then select private leagues and enter the pin below.

http://worldfantasyfootball.skysports.com/Index.aspx

Pin : 26672

The rules are fairly simple and are explained in full within the link but here is a brief summary.

No Transfer budget.
You can select a maximum of two players per nation.
You can make 15 substitutions during the group stages and 15 in the knock out stages.
Your team can be tweaked as many times as you like until the tournament begins.
Point scoring is based around goals, assist, clean sheets etc. Explained in full on the site.

Top prize is £5k in cash and there are various other prizes for finishing in the top ten.

I'll type a quick summary each week to keep everyone updated on who's hot and who's not.

Good luck Blues.
we've got love bites and everything

I've entered 'All The King's Men'. I reckon that's the winning team.

Find it a bit strange there's no budget whatsoever so you can for example have a forward line of Torres, Villa, Messi.

He will always be a rag in my eyes, but can see him knocking in a few during the group stage.

I reckon it's up to you. If you can live with yourself having put him in your side then that's up to you ;o)

Works fine for me. We can't win the prizes though, although I'm not too worried about that :-)

Can't be arsed even trying as usually youc an't enter SkySports competitions outside United Kingdom.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

Only if you've got David James up front. Although no one in their right mind would do that.
