I may have missed something and look a bit foolish here, but I can't find anything in a search about us playing Valencia in what used to the Thomas Cook trophy. Profuse apologies if already posted.

Yet it is announced in Spain:

http://www.abc.es/agencias/noticia.asp?noticia=411546

It's announcing Valencia's friendly with Hannover 96 on 31st July, and says "This is the 3rd pre-season friendly announced by Valencia, after the already-announced friendlies against Aston Villa and Manchester City" (6th and 7th of August respectively - valencianista.es).

Este es el tercer encuentro de pretemporada confirmado por el equipo valencianista, tras los ya anunciados frente a los equipos ingleses del Aston Villa y el Manchester City

Yes I knew that one. By the way Aston Villa get to play Valencia's reserves on Friday night 6th August. Or as Villa call it:

http://www.astonvilla.vitalfootball.co. ... ?a=7504613 - THE BIG FRIENDLY

"El Manchester City es, de momento, el rival de mayor entidad ante el que se enfrentará el VCF en pretemporada"

"City is the biggest side, at the moment, who Valencia will face pre-season". That'll wind up Villa, maybe Valencia can give Milner a lift up on the bus afterward?

The fixtures are slowly appearing on the OS.

A mate rang me this morning saying that the Dortmund game is finally on the OS, and the road trip is on, can't wait

Trouble is they all get 3 weeks off from the time they're knocked I think is City's policy. So if some of our players do well they`ll miss USA.

Does that mean that they're playing 2 games in 2 days?

Ah not too bad then.. Well for the players anyways the US fans who want to see the big players like Tevez probably won't

Apparently. As I said above Villa will get the reserve side as City is regarded as the prestige match. LOL. Didn't we do that to someone else last year?

Vhero - as for Tevez I cant see Argentina getting far with a lunatic in charge, They only got there by the skin of their teeth and are without 3 of their best players, overlooked by Mad Donna. Lost 6 something to Bolivia FFS

They have no right back and last time out had Gutierrez - Newcastle's left winger - playing at right back.

Tevez should be with us on time!

You've got to look at the travel costs you know. Valencia can drop off Silva and pick up Milner at Villa Park too, and Barrios can come back on our flight from Germany. Look after the pennies.......................................

In answer to Blackburn Blue's other thread, this match was confirmed on the Valencia site around 6th June. They play Villa the night before.

Why City are so reticent about announcing it I have no idea, unless there is some sort of City/Valencia/Villa/Silva/Milner negotiation percolating right through it, in which first player has already arrived of course.

There may be some trouble about who is playing Valencia's first team and who there reserves!
