TEAM NEWS

Uruguay are expected to stick with the same line-up that beat Mexico 1-0 in their final group game. Coach Oscar Tabarez may be tempted to bring in defender Diego Godin in place of Mauricio Victorino, who is one booking away from suspension.

South Korea coach Huh Jung-moo could drop fullback Cha Du-ri, who was at fault for Nigeria's opening goal in their 2-2 draw, with Kim Dong-jin favourite to replace him.

One booking from suspension: Yeom Ki-hun, Lee Chung-yong, Kim Nam-il (South Korea); Victorino, Lugano, Fucile (Uruguay).

If it was three a side, Uruguay would win the lot, but I think this one is too close to call, Uruguay on penalties.

Suarez does need about 3 years worth of serious orthodontics.

Korea bossed the midfield the last 20 mins of the half but couldn't produce the final ball. If Uruguay can score again off a counter this one's toast. Stonewall pen missed on the Korean handball which could have finished this off. Korea need to get some composure in the final 1/3rd of the pitch, which isn't easy against this defense. Very impressed by Uruguay. Between them and Paraguay you've got some chances for one of them to really walk into the semis i think given the draw.

The goalkeeping gaffe/defensive communication errors for the goal were really horrific.

I'm hoping Korea can pull this one out...

cheers

Yeah I think the Koreans have at least one goal in them. They are going to be attacking the side with a bouncier pitch, so that should throw off the Uruguay defence and potentially lead to thier infamous set pieces around the box.

I can't believe the lack of communication for that goal either, three of them including the keeper were just watching it bounce all the way through the box...

Don't know why is it but I really want these Koreans out of the competition.
I'd like to see penalties though. Is the extra-time played with the Golden Goal rule?

hmm thats a good question... I'm pretty sure they play the entire extra time regardless of a goal...
