Mancityfans.net.FC Vs Sell outs FC

Mancityfans.net FC: 10-Sell Outs FC: 15

Well it was a bit of a step back tonight with a disappointing loss although if Sell Outs had not had Superman in goal we would have won quite comfortably.

We really did miss the presence of Bob in the goal who I would say defo gives us that vocal support/encouragement/bollocking we really need and also big Chris Higginbottom who is a great all round player. This is not a slight at all on Nick who came in at the 11th hour to assist us in goal....Thanks Nick.

We did ok in patches and when we passed and moved we opened them up with ease only to be denied by their excellent keeper, who had a Nicky Weaver of a game (anyone remenber that display against Ipswich at Maine Road)

Jerome did put Wayne Rooney to shame with a good display and scored with a lovely drag back type back heal into the bottom corner which was the highlight of the night.

Ashton spent more time in the bushes than on the pitch (looking for the ball or so he tells me??) as we seemed situated on the worst pitch there. We lost the ball on about 8 occasions which did not help with our rythem or Ricks temper....

All in alls a tad bit disappointing but I am sure we can bounce back next week.

Goal scorers:

Rodger-4
Mark-1
Jerome-1
Si-1
Ric-3

8 o'clock i can do, 7's is cutting it just that bit too fine for me.

Gutted about the result, still, plenty of positives by the sound of it, and you learn more about yourselves from a defeat. Cliches aside, I'm loving the sound of that backheel Jerome! Was Rick's temper roused by the oppo or Rodg/Lucio scoring the lion's share of the goals? Haha. Nowt wrong with being pissed off when losing anyway, I'd be worried if it wasn't the case. I'm proper champing at the bit now like.

15-10 isn't an ass whooping anyway, it's just like losing 3-2, no dishonour there. Next week we will win.

cheers for the game guys - I know what you mean about being more vocal, I open my mouth more in my work team, think it was to do with forgetting names and not being as confident with 'strangers'.

there were definitely a lot of them I should of saved today though - angles were all over the place!

positives from the match are that some of the goals we scored as a result of some great one touch football - we just got suckered on the counter too many times

I think I was probably guilty of wandering forward more than anyone. Chris is right, perhaps I need Bob nagging me to treat my defensive duties more diligently . Their keeper played like a man possessed by the spirit of Lev Yashin. Weird thing about him was that the ball was bouncing back off him and he dropped it out of the area a few times, like he didn't really know what he was doing, but he was just so fucking agile. Little twat. Then last few minutes he started letting in all sorts of soft efforts.
We need to learn to stay disciplined when we're down by a couple too.
I'm ok for Monday chaps.
Onwards and upwards.
City and sniffing knickers.
Come on Blues.

Ric's "If you do that again I'll punch you" whilst running along side one of their players was my personal highlight.
