25 man squad.

How does this work??

If someone gets injured say in August can you replace him with someone else?

I have concerns about the numbers of players at City as they only seem to be getting bigger and bigger. Are we due to sell anyone soon and will we sell any of the homegrown players that we require for the new rule.

I have concerns about players sitting on big fat wages basically not playing. There must be a rule on how many can be sent out on loan??

Now that we signed Toure and are apparently after at least one more defender as well I fear the following will be sold:

SWP
Ireland
Onouha
Richards
M. Johnson

:(

I would agree with that list with the possible exception of MJ who, when fit and in form, will be exceptionally good cover for Yaya.

Looking at the squad and discounting the players we know won´t be here (Robbie , Garrido, Etuhu et al)think at least 3 of the youngsters (eg Vidal , Ibra , Nimely) could be loaned out which would negate the need to sell

I spent some time weighing up the pro and cons of the squad in this thread yesterday.

Might be worth a look if you haven't already.

The youngsters don't have to be loaned out as they don't count for the 25 limit anyway. So far it looks like this:

a) not homegrown & over 21 (max. 17)

Given
Zabaleta
Bojinov
Robinho
Santa Cruz
Garrido

David Silva
Vieira
Adebayor
González
Kolo Touré
Yaya Touré
Etuhu
Tévez
Kompany
de Jong
Nielsen

b) home grown & over 21 (min. 8)

Hart
Richards
Onuoha
Michael Johnson
Adam Johnson
Ireland
SWP
Barry
Lescott
Logan
Bellamy

c) under 21 (unlimited)

Boateng
Caicedo
Vidal
Weiss
Boyata
Cunningham
Ibrahim
Nimely

Obviously the combined limit of a & b is 25.

Yeah, we have more than enough to fit inside the 25 man rules.

I'd be surprised if Onuoha is still here come August but we should have no problems staying with at least 8 homegrown players.

Isn't this homegrown rule going to have to be ditched now that FIFA canned the 6+5 ruling because it breaches EU Labour Law? Or is that something different alltogether?

I have to say I thought they were scrapping that rule or had actually scrapped it?
