Big cock up by Everton - bet Moyes is fuming. They offered him a new deal, but didn't put it in writing. So he is free to go wherever he wants and Everton get fook all.
Heard this on the radio earlier.

West Ham have confirmed to Soccernet they are interested in signing free agent Dan Gosling.

Dan Gosling has walked away from Everton

The Premier League ruled Gosling, 21, was free to walk away from Everton because the club failed to put an offer of a new deal in writing before his contract expired. Everton would have been entitled to around £4 million in compensation.

Gosling told the Premier League tribunal that he has not spoken to any other team, but now he will be heading for a round of talks. Sunderland and Newcastle United are heading the chase for the 21-year-old, who can play in midfield or as a full back, but West Ham are also in the hunt.

The England Under-21 international is currently recovering from knee ligament surgery and unable to play for three months.

I don't see why we don't offer him a couple of years. Mainly to piss Gollum off.

Give him a contract and then offer him as part exchange for Arteta.

typical disgusting money grabbing footballer...

If it was arseanl/chelsea/atletico madrid or someone like that coming in for him then fair enough.

But he's after leaving for a club no where near as good (going off those quotes) as the one he's at just so he can get a nice sign on fee... not for me that

I quite like the look of him from what I've seen and would be definitely worth a 2 year contract and see how he develops, especially with the new home grown ruling

On the other hand, if you were 21 and unemployed, wouldn't you go where the best money was? Also, there's the issue of first-team football at stake.I don't see a problem with his decision, it's Everton's fault for not working professionally on this.

My mate used to work in a travel agents with his sister in Brixham when he was trialing at Prem clubs. He had a go with Chelsea if i remember correctly. He never trialed with us but we were interested.

Dan's a good player and prospect. I'd definately pick him up, have him train with us for a couple of weeks and if he's not going to be a regular, loan him out for the season.

he apparently wants regular footy, and isn't getting enough of it at everton, so he'll be off to west ham or newcastle if i had to guess

Well he'd be about 12th choice behind just about everybody we've got in the pecking order for me, so I don't see why he'd even consider coming to us if he wants to play 1st team football.

Exactly This. Nah but what would be the point of buying an England under 21 international who wants regular football when he isn't going to get it. It'd be a stupid buy and he'd end up moaning to the media and getting off on a free. A bit like Schmeichel

Schmeichel isn't an England under 21 player ...

He's best pal of someone I am close to from Brixham. They keep in touch, he was apparently part of an approach prior to his Injury by the Rags on the quiet, him and Rodwell.

Brixham, what a place ! I was there a couple of weeks back for my annual lost weekend to the Trawler race.
