Here I am late again. The session today was late afternoon and much the same as yesterday following what was a morning work out all about running and stamina.
Everyone expected were out today apart from Bellers. No doubt superfit already and taking a break. MJ was back out but again not involved in contact stuff but working away 1 to 1 with a physio. I went along early again to be met with Mancini/Kidd and Platt working with a reserve team and going through exactly the same shape and movements as they do with the first team.
The reserve team if I can recall it was:
Karius
Trippier,Mee,Boyata,Cunningham
Ibrahim,Marshall,Tutte,Helan
Guidetti,Nimley
( not 100% sure it was Marshall and Helan)
Interesting anyway to see them working closely with a full reserve group which didn't happen last year that I saw.
Not a lot to feedback from today really. There was one collision with Micah and Ade which looked horrible for a few seconds as physios came racing over but they both dragged themselves up and looked ok quite quickly. All in all both the pass and move stuff plus the football was fairly competitive and boring though it is to repeat but Ade showed up very well as again did Caicedo. Not all the time for big Phill but one or two great finishes.
I did notice Adam Johnson lining up in a more central role a bit more today just giving him the feel for something he might get asked to do this season. Some good defending on show also today. Micah doing some great " stopping" even if he did seem to be carrying an extra ounce or 2. The keeper at the end I was at, David Gonzalez, also making some top class saves.
Whilst trying to keep an eye on what was going on I also had to be careful not to get hit by a ball flying over the fence as they did quite often. They are just in the process of putting high netting behind the goals but today it wasn't up so i was doubling up as ball boy. Much to the disappointment of two lads who seemed to be there solely to get hold of a ball. Maybe they got one after I left I don't know.

Great stuff as ever Doug. I'm interested to know if Jo is still about? If so, is he looking interested or just going through the motions?

Thanks Doug!
I'd be over the moon if we kept Caicedo around this year and gave him a go. IMO people forget he's such a kid. Once he learns to control his body he'll be awesome - like Ironman!
How does Ireland seem? My greatest hope this windoew is not for new signings (though we've made 3 great ones), it's that Stevie stays. Defo my favourite player. I'll be gutted if he goes. If you get a chance to speak to him please tell him his [strike]stalker[/strike] number 1 fan says hi!!! :-)

great report Doug, thanks once again.
looking at that reserve line up, there are some decent lads in there and some of them have been together for
a while now. Will be interesting to see how they get on this season if they continue to get some first team style
training methods as a group. Maybe it is jumping the gun but it would be good if Mancini and co are starting the
season as they mean to go on.
Karius
Trippier,Mee,Boyata,Cunningham
Ibrahim,Marshall,Tutte,Helan
Guidetti,Nimley

oh and ps. take the rest of the team with you..
oh and pps ask him if he is a Lahmacist. And if he doesn't know what you are talking about just ask him if he likes Lahm

Stevie looked absolutely fine , working hard as ever. I am with you in not wanting him to go and I close my ears and eyes to all the rumours around.
