Neutral press?

Have a look on a site such as 'Newsnow' which lists all the various sporting headlines, go to the rag page & look at at 100 or 200 headlines in front of you.

Look for the word 'snubbed' in any of those headlines re Sniejder & see how many you find.

If it was City you would find about 100.

Anyone who tells me on here that the press aren't on our case; fuck off.

there was a thread just at the end of the season on this, and John68 was saying he thought the press would never change their attitude to City. Although i wouldn't be surprised if a few break ranks if we get some success, particularly in Europe. The press are pretty fickle at best and a bunch of arse lickers they just cant resist sucking up to success. Ther is something of a prem or english pride that kicks in as well when teams do well in Europe. That said John is right that the press have never liked City and that will take some changing, success and attractive football would go some way.
The other point is that City fans have had to put up with this snide bias for most of most City fans lives! when the dam holding back our success bursts there is going to be one hell of a backlash or something from even mild mannered city fans.

Don't care. Just cross your arms, shrug, and crack out a toothy smile full of smug self-satisfaction. Drives the bitter, envious bastards mad.

They've spent the last few years, since Frank/Sven linking us with players we've not been interested in, then printing articles a few days later about how their imaginary player 'snubbed' us. Even players who've ended up signing for us the press have printed headlines about how they're 'SET to snub' us. Don't even mention Kaka.

Sneijder has just blatantly 'snubbed' the rags, the's no question about that. Not because they're not in the Chump's league just because he doesn't fancy going there. The press reporting of it is spectacularly different, almost apologetic in many cases. He's 'resisted their interest' etc.

It's absolute proof that they're biased.

I think the word is 'Topical'? The press have an affection to Untied because they have brought them so many headlines, and whilst Taggart is prepared to ban them from the Swamp, they'll always write things in a more 'Arse Licking' fashion. Anybody remember earlier this year when Taggart was getting a load of stick regarding the referee's (fat Wiley), the press smelt blood and a few of them jumped at the chance to have a dig. It soon subsided though after the press realised that he wasn't going to get a real punishment and it would be them who would be seeing the backlash from old McShineyNose.

Things won't change if we win a league cup or a Premier title, it will be just classed as us buying the league and still ruining football. Only when we are challenging and winning trophies on a regular and sustained basis will the press change their view, otherwise it will them left ouit in the cold.

Dead right!

And every player we sign would have "preferred to go to Chelsea or United"....

If they preferred it, they would have gone there so shut the fuck up. They "preferred" us because we offered more money and a greater future.... the exact same reason every human being chooses a new place to work.

The funny thing is, I remember Platt intimating similar shit, but guess what? He fucking "preferred" to go to city as well... just like every single one of those hypocritical rag writers would if they could.

Don't bother holding your breath people.
Let me remind you that:
Newcastle v City...1968...when we won the league...WASN'T EVEN ON MATCH OF THE DAY.
City v Gornik...1970...ECWC Final...Not shown on English TV.

The media? Ever being positive about City?...IT AIN'T GONNA HAPPEN.

Come on mate, that was a long time ago now. There were obviously factions in the media back then who could basically re-write the truth and show it differently. Now, we are the new television darlings with Sky and ESPN wanting to show us as often as possible.

Regardless of the news media, we are getting our brand out there because people want to watch the best players and the best teams - we are now one of them.

Danny Kelly & Mickey Quinn were giving it the usual anti-City, smug, pisstaking, rouine earlier, scoffing & chortling with some clueless, Southern twat from the press & a blue came on & calmly tore their argument to pieces. He just showed it up for the childish, jealous, crap it really is. If it was anyone off here; well done.

Beefy,
It was long time ago that we challenged at the top and we got nowt from the media then.

Today it is about sales and the number of hits on the news site for the advertising revenue. The elite 4 with the help of the media have created a huge following. City are fucking that little jolly up for them.

When we are global and the media sales reflect that in revenue for them, then we can expect favours. Until then, wear a tin hat, cos they'll shit on yer head at every opportunity.

They have created their angle for us..."WE ARE RUINING FOOTBALL".

That's why I say it's 'Topical'. Mongs like them 2 and the rest of the media are there to sell their paper/radio station and it's all about readers/listeners. We are the main event at the moment and compared to the other 19 Premier League teams, we are the only ones making the headlines. So, do they support City and alienate the other 19 clubs supports, or do they set an agenda against us in order to get those numerous millions to listen in/turn their pages? No contest really is it.

To be fair, I quite like 'em slagging us off, it keeps it real. We haven't actually won anything yet, but when we do, it'll be even more fun to see them squirm, especially when they all start doing David Platt's!

Manchester City still want to sign Milos Krasic from CSKA Moscow but the Serbia midfielder would rather join Juventus, according to his agent Marco Naletilic.

David Silva has sealed his move to City after undergoing a medical yesterday and signing a four-year deal.
