On mcfc.co.uk that he has put pen to paper on a new 2 year deal.Only days ago city announced he had been released i thought.
Not bad as back up anyway so no harm but hes got no chance of football with Shay and Joe ahead of him.Strange at the age of 29 he has not got the desire to go get regular 1st team football.

I think we probably called his bluff and there wasn't much (if any) interest elsewhere.

Yeah but terrible for us really as he isn't the best backup keeper. Thank god he will only be 3rd choice.

How do you know?

Please tell me all about him because I've not seen anything like enough of him to form an opinion. Be good to hear the views of someone who has obviously seen plenty of him.

I remember when Arsenal beat us 5-1 at Maine Road, he made 2 really world class saves when we were throwing everything and the kitcehn sink at them.

Also played against us for Villa and didn't particuarly impress one way or another in that game.

and when he played at Scunthorpe last year he seemed what i expected a fairly solid of unspectacular back up goalkeeper.

My fear is his return means that one of Joe or Shay isn't staying and that Joe might leave.

His bluff has been called.

We have our 3rd choice keeper for next season.

Lovely Jubbly.

Hmm why do yo assume I know a lot about him? I just think he is not on the level of Joe and Shay from what I saw last season plus a couple of games I saw him in net for at Villa (my uncle being a Villa fan).

I take it that Joe and Shay are happy to stay and fight it out for the Number 1 shirt? I ask because I've read two contrasting articles lately, one saying that Joe will be the first choice and the other saying Shay will be.

He's a good addition in case we need him.

So, you don't know?

Could be a world beater for all you know.

Don't think it's going to matter too much if he's 3rd choice - only a problem if Hart goes out on loan again and we can't call him back if needed.

Either way I thought he was ok at Arsenal and would go on to have a better career than he has actually managed.

The fuck?

I do think we should sell Shay and get Joe in now, full stop. As much as I love Shay, his excellence will command the number 1 spot, but that will hinder the prospects of Hart who is clearly destined to be a top keeper. We should give the position to quality youth in Joe and let Shay have a go with another top club, no matter who, as picking and choosing his club wouldn't be fair on him.
