Mi Dad never stopped talkin' about Dave Ewing and Ken Barnes. I'm getting old now too, and like john68 I saw "The" Team but if memory serves me right , KB was "one of the finest half backs i've ever seen" ( Mi Dad said). All the time, " these fellas ( Bell, Lee, Summerbee, Oakes) , have got nowt on Barnes (and Ewing).

RIP Mr Barnes, .......... whilst I'm at it, RIP (M and D).

R.I.P to a true City Legend!!!

There are far too many blues passing away at the moment, I'm at a funeral tomorrow for a lad from the Cheadle Branch who died last week.... he was only a young bloke and he died from a blood clot in his leg that travelled to his lungs, apparently that kills you instantly...

On a lighter note, just proves that City WILL eventually kill ya.

In the 15 years I worked at City I had the pleasure to chat many times with Mr Barnes, a wonderful and very knowledgeable man.

A City Legend in every sense of the word.

My condolences to Peter and the family

RIP

There's not really a lot to add to the above comments.
History will remember Ken kindly as a City great as a player, scout and a life long ambassador for the Blues.
A very sad day and sad loss.
RIP...Sleep well.

My dad knew Ken Barnes quite well, when me dad was at City in the 60's and 70's, and he knew that city ran through his veins, no matter what he was doing during his mammoth stay at city, he always did it with a smile on his face. I met him a few times in my childhood, loved listening to his footy stories.

Sadly his later life was blighted by serious illness, but my dad always had time for this most wonderful of men, as Ken always had time for everyone he ever met.

RIP Ken Barnes.
