Bellamy - just what is the craic?

Postby Goataldo » Wed Jul 14, 2010 9:46 pm

Is there anything definite to go on re Bellers staying/going? - I am gonna be seriously gutted if he goes, and especially if it's to Tottenham. God I hate Spurs.

All I get is horrible little rumours, does anyone have owt concrete please?

Agree. No to Spurs. Not just cos I hate 'em but because I do not want us to make our competitors stronger unless they pay silly money.

If Bellamy was to go he should be sold to Cardiff or similar.

Well if it came to it, yeah, Cardiff or equivalent. Spurs would be kamikaze.

Mate of mine heard him on the radio (think was a bit back) saying that he would definitely be in teh starting eleven on first day against Spurs. Not the squad, the starting eleven. This was in the context of training and impressing the manager apparently, and he(Bellers) was adamant.

Naturally this doesn't mean he won't be sold, but for me, it epitomises the reason why he shouldn't go at any cost. He has that drive, that angry ambition, something that drags other players to that level and sets a benchmark. He's a proper British player, gritty and determined, and ready to slap a United fan on the pitch if need be, and bollock his own players, even in training. These are the sorts of players to provide the balance with all these galactico imports, and confucious say, life and football: all about balance.

I feel it will be a very bad move to get rid of Bellers, and there's no need for that no-kneed argument. When he's fit and flying he's invaluable, and he's a positive character to have in my opinion. Despite his past misdemeanours.

I couldnt agree with you more. As blues, we always want players to die for the cause, work the backsides off and Bellers does exactly that and more.

I'd be gutted if Bellers went we need someone with that fiery attitude and the determination. His never say die attitude makes him a phenomenal asset to the team and if he did go it wouldn't be to spuds. He even said if he was to move now it would be to Cardiff.

And whilst we're beating each other with pedant sticks, my thread was posted just 9 minutes after the one you posted. I generally type verrrrrry slowly. Sometimes leave the lappie and make a brew half way through a post/thread (for shame, I know, I know). So when I started this, there was no such 'other thread'. Ha! Case closed.

i remember him at the start of the world cup on five live really fired up and giving the media grief!

He said that the media had said he was going last summer and he proved them all wrong by being the best player, they said he was going at christmas and he proved them wrong by working his bollocks off and he'd prove them wrong again this summer! he also mentioned legal action too, lol!

he also recently came on and said he'd rather play a bit part at city than play every week somewhere else!

Kieran Trippier:

“I’m learning the most from Craig Bellamy. He’s fast, he’s clever, he’s very experienced and there’s so much I can take from training with and against him.

“He’s always helping me, if I make a mistake he shows me what to do and he gets on my case like you might expect! But it’s all positive and you can’t help but pick things up from him.”

Anyone think he'd be a top manager? I do.

I believe I read somewhere, or heard in an interview, that Bellers has no wish to manage for a professional club. Too bad, because I do think he has the qualities of a good manager.

I think there is stilla role for Bellamy at City....At least I hope there is. It's one thing having all the fancy skills but there are not that many players these days who play with his determination not to surrender at any cost.
With the high number of possible games, He will still be ideal when grit and fight are needed...and sure as eggs are eggs, there will be plenty of games when they will be needed.

I think he'd make horrible manager in modern football. Luckily, he seems to agree with me himself.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?
