based on the signings we have had made so far and the ones looking like they are coming in...do you think we will have the best starting 11/squad in the league on paper?
I'm thinking about the players pulling on a City shirt this year and for once i'm speechless

On paper yeah i think we will, but it's how we play on the pitch that matters but i agree the players we have and the ones we could bring in just leave me speechless

Now that the world cup has finished I am starting to get very excited about our prospects for this season.

I still think Chelsea have us. But we're definitely on a par with Arsenal, at the very least.

I'm thinking yes but will reesrve judegment until start of season, and secondly when the transfer window ends.
The players still need to gel though, however good they are - key part of Mancini's job.

on paper it is starting to look that way. certainly there are no other teams that will be clearly better on paper. We still have to wait and see who else we end up with too. If we keep the best of our existing players also then i think we will have the best squad on paper no doubt at all.

Yes but obviously we lack playing time as a team compared to our competitors.
I wake up sometimes wondering if I've gone mental. It's as if I'm dreaming it all. I still haven't fully come to terms with it yet.
I keep thinking of asking people to pinch me but it turned out badly last time.

if we have our man from lazio we are still another midfielder and 1-2 strikers away from being real title contenders. we are near to it just want bobby manc to sign our long term targets and its sleepless nights with excitement material

This years squad is far and away the best City have had in my lifetime. In the past, we have our share of quality players but never so much strength in depth.
Last season we proved we were a match for the top clubs, it was against the likes of Hull and Burnley where we failed. Get this team gelling and we're gonna be awesome. I pray that Mancini is up to the job and that we have a little patience in the early part of the season.

I remember before last season CTK did a squad analysis between CITY and the 'old' top 4 - I am really hoping he does it again - the scum red bastards can surely not over-achieve again

Its all unreal, it has never sunk in that this is actually happening, after the Spuds game last season at home that feeling was terrible, absolutely gutted but when I put it in to perspective, it was far and away the best season in my lifetime and its hopefully going to continue and improve.
My stomach is churning thinking about this season, we defo need a couple of hard working, passionate lads to balance the squad, id take Macherano when Livershite go to the wall

i put all our players at city on pro evo last night and just looking at the team was awesome. think we might get off to a slow start though with the fixtures we've got then get rocking about 3/4 games in

I am with you on most of that John. It's those games against the bigger/better clubs late on that worried me Arse/Everton/Spurs/Scum/Lpool. Only 2 points from those games and we will get a clue quickly with the start we have.

I don't know. I just possibly think, with the the totally different pre-season we're having this year in the States, playing quality teams then Valencia at COMS. I think we may just hit the ground running and tw@t Spuds and scouse1.......What a start and a statement!
