You don't need to take a site down to update woe pages with a player wearing a new shirt. Regardless of who the player is. Its surely a fuck up or you'd have a message that said you have a planned outage / update.
Just my thoughts. If it were my team updating it and it looked like that I'd have someones fuclin head. Honest.
