Interesting that none of the really big clubs went for him. Mind you he'll get games at the dippers. He would be warming the bench at any of the top sides

He's been a bit part player for so long, it will be interesting to see how he goes with the pressure and expectation on him being a major player for Scouse 1.

He'll be injured within the next two months. ;-)

Thats it, he can be a big fish and guarantee himself a game, wouldnt get that anywhere else, id of personally signed him for us, has that little spark that we might miss but he wouldnt be a guaranteed starter, as far as a free transfer goes there prob wont be a better one this summer!

Must've reduced his wage demands a bit, but still not enough for Spuds it seems. Wonder if he actually had to go lower then he turned down at Chelsea??

That.

Silva is far better than Joe Cole. Fact.

Whohoo! Love to see a dipper's reaction reading that!

This was a simple decision.
He will be guarenteed a game, when fit, with the dippers and he will be their biggest signing of the summer. Wouldn't have got either with us, Chelski, Arse or the Scum.
He bottled the challenge of joining a competitive side, competitive at squad level and competiting for trophies.
The question now is, how are they going to afford his wages, unless there are significant wage earners to leave this summer.
Twitchy must feel like he has had his pocket picked :)

He was still a good signing for Liverpool. For free and they just lost Benayoun.

How long before we see an article in the papers saying Liverpool fail to pay players wages?

More than anything I take this as a sign they have a take over lined up. Benayoun is gone and that saves a few quid but they have paid off Rafa, there is no CL money this season and they take on another injury prone player for £90k a week. They are either going shit or bust and will do a Leeds or there is already someone guaranteeing the payments. Seeing them fall on their arses would be very funny.

Good signing for the dippers. I'm assuming he'll play wide left and that's been a problem position for them for a long time.

liverpool fans ! enjoy your hard-on today. mick quinn, talk up your new world beater."shows our intent" HAH. Intent to luck out on out of contract players yeh. 90 grand a week, chickenfeed isn't it?, not an obscene amount of money to pay an in and out player who hasnt really played for the past year. Different scenario if it were City, but for liverpool, its great business, a bit like owen last summer. Yes, I'm sure we are still still regretting how City let owen slip away. Funny how this all gets turned on its head by these wankers. Don't get me wrong, I think Cole is a good player, and its a good addition for liverpool but right now I hope his does his cruciate first game just to burst all these hypocrites balloons

I have turned off Talk Sprott after Mickey Quinn claimed the Cole signing was the signing of the summer.
