Sky bias - umpteenth chapter

They have got to me again.

Just fired off this to u2us@skysports.com. May not help (I believe it does, the more people do it), but it sure makes me feel better!

Dear SSN,

2 things

1) Are you sponsors of Manchester United's US tour then? Quarter of an hour in every report drooling over this lot, even interviewing old players losing at the North-West Masters the other day. City are there somewhere too you know. maybe take one day off your United-worship?

2) Liverpool sign a Chelsea reserve on a free transfer. Cue a whole day of drooling over them. Contrast this with 'oh by the way Manchester City have signed David Silva' (a world cup winner and world class player)- a ten second clip the other day. And when Gareth Barry joined City he apparently had no 'Champions League ambition', giving you acres of City-bashing material. No mention of this with Mr Cole then, signing for the highest pay check? Wonder what percentage loss Chelsea made on him (referring to your City-bashing the other day)?

Your continued bias in your editorials toward these 2 red debtors is cringe-worthy, laughable, and totally unjustifiable. In an otherwise very professional organisation it lets you down continually in the eyes of other clubs' fans. Still I suppose it will take a few years of their respective declines to rid your editorial staff of this bias.

I wonder if they'll read it out.

I agree, the more emails SSN get from fans of clubs other than the bin dippers & scum the better. Imagine if Joe Cole had signed for us, a club not in the CL, he would have been slated for taking the money but because he's gone to the bin dippers Roy Hodgson becomes a demi-god and a very shrewd manager overnight.

Liked that John, as you said it'll make not one jot of difference, but the more that do it the better the impact

To be fair there's a few of us on there. I reckon the editors are quite fair on that one.

On the other hand its been so pathetic its laughable. The Joe Cole saga or 'Chelsea reject takes cash over glory' has been richly entertaining as the media power wanks over the signing of the year. It takes time for the media to reflect power shifts and its been entrenched for so long that dippers are part of the elite that its an automatic suck up reflex.

But the buffoonery in the media should be treated with amusement. Mike Parry is on now saying that the green & gold campaign not only cost taggarts mob the title but was the reason why Rooney was so shite in the WC. Give him 5 more minutes and he will be laying the blame for the assassination of Archduke Ferdinand at their door. Its so bizarre the only right thinking response is to enjoy the comedy and take the piss out of the wanker.

When YaYa signed Sky kept showing a list of what he has won with Barcelona and then finished off by saying City haven't won anything in 34 years. The whole point was just so they could keep saying the last bit.

I noticed this morning that U*d and Spuds US tour was mentioned and ours wasn't. It was so fuckin obvious that we weren't reported at all. Its as if we don't exist.

Not trying to defend Sky but when you think about it, why should they advertise our US tour when it's being shown on ESPN?

Also, City have promised us fans that all signings and news will be made Official on the Official site first, rather than informing the Big Guns and letting them get the exclusive.

Personally, I don't really give a monkey's what they do, because want the Juggernaut starts it's going to be very hard to stop, and if people/businesses/media groups want to get in our way, then they are the ones who cannot complain when they are left bloodied on the side of the road.

EDIT: Fcuk 'em!

Not sure what the difference is between plugging ESPN and SCUM TV mate. I get ESPN through SKY and presumably the great unwashed undesirables often get SCUM TV through SKY as well.

Same difference. But it's not that, it's just they always put them on even when there's no story to tell. Like if City sign a player the main headline is something like "Alex Ferguson says...................."

As you say, fuck 'em.

I think they're just bitter as they didnt get the 'swoop' on the David Silva story. I bet that really fooked them off.

I hate Sky Sports when it comes to Man City, they're always negative about us when we sign players. And as afore mention they would not stop talking about Cole who is the 'Transfer of the Season'. And we get like a 10 second clip over David Silva who is a world cup winner, and Yaya Toure who was a regular at Barcelona.

One thing that has got to be considered is the personnel who actually make up the media circus. Take the likes of Sky Sports or BBC, they have been made up of the Top 4s special emissaries who have pimped their own football teams to world for years. The Lawro's, Thomo's or Hansen's of this world are not going to go down fighting. The Arsenal supported by the likes of Merson and the Rags et al probably supported from top-to-bottom by the Southern Shandy Drinking Puffs from Larndan!

However, if we become successful these tired old faces will change and when we see more of the fresh faced younger personalities of Paul Walsh, David White or Steve Lomas to name a few, then everyone else will be complaining about us.

Personally I don't think top 4 will be enough to turn their heads

I think only when we win the Premiership will they have to take us seriously
