Do you feel uncomfortable?

Just been browsing the net and we are without doubt the most hated club in the UK at the moment
It seems every blog..every forum..every article sees us in a negative light
At first I thought it would only be the usual top 4 suspects giving us abuse
But worryingly it seems to be most teams fans
I hate to say it but it's starting to get to me..I just don't understand why there is so much venom..isn't it every club outside the top 4 s dream to be where we are now? Unlimited wealth and a real chance to break into the big time?
Wouldn't any lesser club jump at the chance we have been given?
Whereas before people would smile when you said you supported City now they just sneer and it leaves a nasty taste in my mouth
I dunno..suppose I just want us to be respected and loved again..

I do feel slightly uncomfortable. But it will all come to an end when we win the league and have success to match our spending. But until then I only look for positive things about city. like this
http://www.epltalk.com/why-manchester-city-will-become-the-heroes-of-the-premier-league/22487 Although some of the comments on that are absolutely brutal towards city.

i can understand the point in the OP, but i dont feel it myself. As a third generation fan i dont feel i have to listen to anything anyone says or tries to make out about City. Most of us have been through years being the butt of the jokes about being a mickey mouse club, always the best example of not how to do it, self destruction specialists, joke directors taken to the next level.
Now that has literally spun to the opposite, not only well financed but with owners and club directors who are an example of good business. i cant say that City fans deserve that for some bizarre reason, but it has happened and thats that. Im going to enjoy it as much as possible and i dont see why any of us should be making excuses or feeling guilty or any other negative emotion.
The other thing is, dont underestimate the power of the press to do peoples thinking for them.. people laugh off tabloid reading pretending it effects someone else not them, but when all the messages are the same from all over the press, it gets a life of its own and people start to believe it.
lastly if you dont respect what blogs, press, webs, commentators you name it are saying then dont read it, dont listen to it.
Oh that wasn't lastly after all.. the difference between 3rd and 2nd or the title this season could be the free help we get from the press and 'others' in generating a serious siege mentality at City

These opposition fans who berate us simply see their own dreams embedded in Manchester City. They then have two choices - say 'good luck' to us or hate us because it isn't them.
I don't feel remotely uncomfortable with that.

The press have fuck all to write/talk about now the World Cup is over. There's only us doing owt in the market, so they sensationalise the stories about us. Fans of other clubs are probably pissed off about hearing and reading about "moneybags" City all the time, but personally, I don't give a fuck what any fan of any other club thinks about City.

Do i fuck, The fact that every football fan in england and probably most of europe is talking about us just makes me smile with an immense amount of pride.
Been in town all day in the new away shirt and havent had nothing but random guys shouting "come on city" in the street. literally like 20 times today so theres obviously a few more like me who are loving it.

When we were suffering back in 98, relegated to the third tier, people were queueing up to laugh at us and have a dig; shithouse clubs like Stockport and Bury amongst others.
After those days I vowed I would not cry for any fucler anymore, bollox to the lot of them I honestly dont give a shit what any fan of another team thinks as I've had years and bloody years of watching dross at City and look at our current windfall as a payback to our incredible fans loyalty - 28k average in the third tier, and 35 years and we are still here in huge numbers. Put our suddenly powerful status down to football justice if you like.
Chelsea suffered something similar when they started splashing the money, and the hardest part will be winning that first trophy - once we have that in the bag others will follow. My hope amongst all hopes, is that the abhorrent lot across the road will have to sit back and watch us dominate in helpless punishment - as the Stone Roses put it "the past is yours but the futures mine, you're all out a time" - lets hope so.
And the tabloids and Sky can go a fucl themselves too.
(steps down off soapbox)

Good idea, I had fizzy water with it and that probably didn't help.

Not a bit.
Im starting to see kids, not a lot, but at least some, wearing City kits here in Belfast. Thats an increase from none and it will only get better and more. It happened with Chelsea and will happen with us.
So bring it on City, WE ARE THE FUTURE.
Fuck all of those who hate us, just because we fell into a wee bit of money.

Felt much more uncomfortable dropping down to the 3rd tier on my birthday with the resulting shame, pity and hurt pride.
I've been loving it more than ever these days. :D

I've supported City since 1976 so i've been sneered at, mainly laughed at, seen more lows than highs, been twatted at Notlob and almost stranded in the car park at Elland Road with several hundred Leeds fans close by baying for blood (will be eternally grateful to the travel club steward who recognised us and let us on his coach), had numerous arguments with my Rag Dad (which seems to have increased over the last 2 years). I couldn't give a toss what other fans think. They would swap with us without a second thought if it were their team. I deserve what is happening at the minute. I have earned it and I am going to enjoy it and I am going on the mother of all benders when we bag that first trophy.

No, I absolutely dont feel uncomfortable.
We have owners who are doing only the same as Edwards did with United, Walker did with Blackburn, and Abramovich did with Chelsea.
I think it is wrong from a moral point of view that we are reportedly paying a single player 200k a week, but you have to bear this in mind.
The top teams have always paid the top wages, and the top transfer fees. I would rather city stayed as a club in the community, but the reality is that we last year were in contention for the top 4, and this year maybe for top 3. You can look how much the likes of spurs, arsenal, liverpool and of course the rags have paid over the years, or for that matter how much the likes of fulham or wigan paid comparable to their division to get into the premier league.
I would love for the players to represent me, but, just like the players united signed over the years, they represented themselves NOT the club they played for, and therefore we have to accept that football at the business end of the league is very different, and thus our players will be there for the money and the plaudits, rather than for the fans as it used to be.
