Well that's a bit bizarre isn't it? Would love to see old man Vieira tramping up and down that thing, Stevie will love it though

Bottom of this article:

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/footba ... -love.html

Vieira will be OK, it's the likes of Micah that will be having kittens. Carlos will find a calf strain when they're doing that I'm sure!

When I saw that earlier on the 'Mail' site, I wondered if the players know yet what awaits them, or whether word will just be filtering through from friends/family etc, who've just read the same article, sending them texts & pictures? I would be if I was Micah's mate!

Brilliant.

Now it's a long time since I did all that hard PT and 2 hours sprinting a day etc, and read all the books. But once you get used to sprinting on the flat and are fairly fit, where do you go? You only actually do 'work' as defined by physics if you act against gravity, that opens up a whole new world of pain and lactic acid, and it will sure benefit people then playing a match on the flat.

Unfortunately of course if you do a hard session withing 3 or 4 days before a match everyone will be fucked. So needs to be done carefully.

Maybe a current 'expert' can pick up on that?

I can imagine it making a difference. My knees are a bit iffy for running but when I'm going through a 'fit' spell (ie not now!) I find a completely different kind of fitness if I do a lot of cycling up hills/mountains compared with on the flat, not just because it's harder but it's..well..different even on a bike. Don't know the exact science behind it but it uses different bits & is fucking hard work & benefits me enormously afterwards because it gets a lot easier, improving from being close to death, to just plain knackered.
