Carrington

Work has continued at Carrington and now 3 of the pitches are fully surrounded by the fence just leaving where the reserves train plus the pitch nearest the Sale Sharks way in still open. There is a new feature which is a HILL.Over on the far side where you could view from a slightly elevated position the hill has been built.Just like a giant sandhill for them to run up as part of the stamina training. Like being back in the army if you remember the film!
While I was there I noticed a few of the players who had been in the USA were back. Tutte and Guidetti for sure but maybe a couple of others as well but none of the World Cup players apart from Rocky.Looks like their first training will be in Germany.

When I did my boot training for the forces many years ago we had such a hill. After a three to five mile run - sometimes with full kit - they'd make us run up and around the hill two or three times. It was a killer.

Edit:

Sorry, I expect everyone could have done without my senile reminiscing :-o
