The Family Stand - the farce CONTINUES

What a farce.......

Mate rang me last night about tix for Valencia. I told him to ring up and see if we could get our normal seats, and if we could I would ring up later and buy mine. So this morning he rings up and buys the tickets for him and his son.

An hour later I rang up for two adult tickets in my season ticket seat, and to upgrade my lads seat to an adult as he cant make it. However because there was no kid on MY booking, I cant sit in my normal seat. I told him we normally all buy our tickets at the same time, but this morning I wasnt sure who was able to make it, so asked if we could just add to my friend's booking, which would have satisfied the criteria to have a kid on the booking, but was told no this was not possible, the system couldnt accomodate this.

Astonished at this, I asked if I could buy the junior ticket now, and upgrade it later - but was told this was not possible as upgrades are not available for this game.

Add to this, I then asked if we could all sit elsewhere in the ground together, and despite all being ST holders, they said no, their booking was already on the system, and it couldnt be changed now. To top it all, I couldnt even buy 3 seats elsewhere in the ground, because of not being able to upgrade my lad's ticket today, I now have to wait till tomorrow and join the queue with every other fucking johnny come lately wanting a £10 ticket.

So, City ticket office, get fucked, I hope the fucking ground is half empty you amateur pricks. Will they never fucking learn.

As for the cup tickets survey they sent me by email today, they can stick that up their fucking arse too, as most likely I will have to vacate my seat for those games too as we always afford for the lad to come/night matches etc, and he isnt so into football that he is too arsed about missing Scunthorpe.

Can easily see the Family Stand being empty in early League Cup games on a Tuesday evening if we are drawn at home.

I wasnt a bit skeptical about that, but seeing as I wont be allowed to sit there if my lad isnt with me because of a late finish, then I would have thought that a large proportion of the even the adults normally in the family stand will be moved if they cant take their kids.

Its gonna look a bit silly with a full two tier section completely empty until the quarter finals.

No doubt I will also have to fork out for ridiculous priced tier 2 colin bell tickets too. They can fuck right off.

i thought that you were able to upgrade a child ticket for ANY night game? At least that's what I was told, twice, when I rang the ticket office trying to decide where to sit. Won't be impressed if they've changed the rules.

John,

Make sure that you contact the club via email re this and get it sorted. Not trying to teach you to suck eggs but with our past ticketing history you know how bad we have been.

In a way it's nice to know some things never change!

It always seems to come down to the IT doesn't it? With the odd idiot staff member thrown in.

Reckon the club should have hired a new IT chief as a first job!

Definitely take the f's out and e-mail the club.

So are the club basically saying on cup games that if your child can't attend the game then your getting moved?? If that's the case like others have said that stand will be empty with everyone squeezed in else where.

I would re- check this to make sure the person involved gave out the correct information. It seems utterly ridiculous that, with all the specialist people now employed by the club, nobody has thought this through. Sackable.

It may be that a complete fuckwit in the ticket office is interpreting the situation incorrectly or can't operate the computer. Worth checking.

This was confirmed by both the ticket line and customer services and a manager in customer services, so it seems that it is correct.

I have given up now, to be honest I cannot be arsed with it all, but doesnt bode well for this seasons cup games

I wouldn't leave it there. I'd ask to speak to someone else. You get benefits for being a season ticket holder and if those benefits are taken away because of some dip-shit at the club who's being overzealous then take your rant upstairs. This shit needs niping in the bud or it'll run and run all season long.

How many fans need to be inconvenienced before they can properly properly implement their 'family friendly' atmosphere in one small section of the ground?

It's an absolute joke.

FUCKING HELL........................

So, having calmed down after yesterdays rant, I rang customer services and wait for it...........

Because they wouldnt let me buy my tickets when I first called under the early bird discount, they have now had me over for an extra £5 a ticket, as its now £15 a head - the twats.

Mate, you need to seriously complain about this. It's just plain wrong.

Seconded. No way to treat loyal supporters.

if we sold out our stadium and a boy grew too old for the family stand - would he and his parents have to go to a queue to get a new ST somewhere else in the stadium?

No matter how that is solved, This family stand thing was always going to be a epic fail.

I believe this to be the case. If we get to the situation where there is a season ticket waiting list of a few thousand then it could mean that the parents and boy end up without a ticket and at the bottom of the waiting list despite being a seasonticket holder for the current year. They need to review this rule before we do start getting a waiting list.

I seriously doubt that would be the case, for a start I think the policy at the club is to never completely sell the capacity to Season Cards. They would simply have to relocate and the seats in the Family stand would go into the general sale pot.

As for the original issue, surely the rule is two adults per one child so even if you had all booked together you still wouldn't have qualified. Otherwise though very poor customer service and you should definitely complain about the dodgy advice resulting in you being hit by the price hike.

if this is the case it is absolute shite, how can loyal fans with thouusands of loyalty points & current ST holders have to go on a waiting list, absolute shite
