Europa - qualifiers

Not much, but Shamrock Rovers take on the mighty Juve tonight.. interesting in the sense that i believe it is well into the season in Ireland so the advantage Rovers have is being well up to speed and in the flow. Juve by contrast might be rusty.

The other one that is interesting is the Scouce1.. they have virtually no first teamers available, so if there was ever a chance for the Macedonian side they are playing it is now.

Yey, Utrecht just scored 1-0 against Luzern. Mertens is such a joy to watch. He's a Adam Johnson type player, but with much more freedom to just go for it.

I would fucking love it if Utrecht and City ended up in the same group in the Europa LEague.

a bit of both. utrecht is my "second team" ever since i met my missus who's from utrecht 9 years ago, and even more so since we moved here 3 years ago.

you will find plenty of rivers [urlnp=http://www.myp2p.eu/competition.php?competitionid=&part=sports&discipline=football]HERE[/urlnp]

don't know the quality though. i'm watching the telly.

Edit: forgot the most important part. it'd be great getting pissed out of my head with all the blue taking over the city.

Well if it was Luzern , FCZ and City, I'd have more money to spend on great Belgian beer at the pub !

Any one for a Leffe ?

if you class leffe as great, you certainly need that field trip to utrecht, so i can educate you in the wonders of belgian beers ;-)

Point noted, remember getting totlly wazzed about 15 years ago on Leffe--, Hoegaarten is also quite good. However, I'm sure you've got some good stuff up there in Holland too. Mertens is Belgian though isn't he ? hence my initial reference to their beer. Getting confused in my old age.

yes, mertens is belgian. they have some really good young players coming through at the moment.
when it comes to beer, the belgians beat the dutch hands down. but you can get your hands on all the good belgians here. one of my favourite pubs in utrecht, for example, is called café belgie and has hundreds of different belgian beers. i'm a bit of a connoisseur.

I guess you don't often get to do too many beer tasting evenings there then ? probably take all weekend to get through that lot.

that would be absolutely lethal considering that most belgians are at least 8%...

I currently live 15 minutes by bike from Hoegaarden. Ate at the brewery last week with the missus. Worst food and service I've had outside Britain, ever. Until the start of this month, I lived about 800 metres from the Stella brewery. Where Leffe is also brewed.

and i've been in dinant where the leffe abbey is. of course it has nothing to do with the beer except renting its name to it. the leffe cloister was ironically enough quite renowned or its wine back in the days.
