Adebayor claims he is leaving City and the Premier League altogether...

Emmanuel Adebayor has issued a come and get me plea to Juventus, throwing into doubt his future at Manchester City and in the Premier League.

Having been told he can leave the club, especially with Mario Balotelli's arrival from Inter looking likely despite questions over wage demands, Adebayor is hoping Juventus stitch together a plan to rescue him from the brink at Eastlands.

There has been no official confirmation from City that their man is on the transfer market, but the club is known to have more senior players than they can register for the forthcoming Premier League campaign — and the Togolese forward's words suggest he has been told he is free to leave.

"Juventus are a great club in which I would like to play," Adebayor told Tuttosport.

"Until some time ago I would not have accepted a transfer to other clubs. I wanted to wear the City shirt and have a better season compared to last year, but I know there will not be many chances for me and so I am considering the many offers I have received.

"I am sorry to leave the Premier League, but in Europe there are other top leagues."

Juventus have been linked with the striker after general director Giuseppe Marotta closed the door on Wolfsburg hitman Edin Dzeko after learning the Germans won't lower their £33 million demands.

I'd be surprised were this to be true

But if Dzeko and Balotelli were both done deals I could see the merits of it

It would be a little disappointing though as he's hugely talented...when he is on his game. Would explain some not amazing pre-season performances though I guess

Tottenham Hotspur v Manchester City. Sat 14th August 2010 Ko 12.45.

No idea who plays in attack, no idea who plays in defence, no idea who plays in midfield.

No idea who wants to play for us or wants to leave or who else will be signed or available or how they'll fit together.

Lets hope Tevez Silva & DeJong are in fucking mint shape.

What is it with players who don't want to fight for their place in a team?

Lack of self-belief? No motivation? Laziness?

I know.....increasingly it looks and feels like a fucking shambles

I have no doubt whatsoever that the incoming players are pretty much done and that there is not far to go in terms of "assembling the squad" BUT fucking hell it cannot be a good thing to have lots of players training and playing together with no bloody idea whether they will be starting the season all together

Even i'm starting to get worried now Ted...just over a week to go and it seems everything is still up in the air and Mancini is in Italy with his dad!(Not that I begrudge that)

Sounds to me like it's the player himself who's decided he's not sure he wants to wait & see who comes in. Obviously this 'X' factor method of squad selection is a fucking disaster & is unsettling all the players. Quick talking, reassurances are needed immediately.

Very good point!

I can see our 2 starting games (which imo are VERY important to show everyone our intent after forking out such vast amounts of cash) being very nail biting!

We have such a good squad, have invested hundreds of millions in some of the best players in the world, yet why am I so nervous about this coming season.........................

Juve have been our primary competition for Dzeko (and Krasic too, apparently). Perhaps we're still in discussions with Wolfsburg over Edin.

Ade had a good season (14 in 26 despite what happened with Arsenal/Togo). He would've been/will be better this season. Not really thrilled to hear this - he's a very good player who'd have improved in a settled team.

I'd prefer to sack him off and get balo and dzeko in to be honest

I don't begrudge him that either but if he'd left a more stable unit behind & worked on team building earlier rather than fucking about then we'd be in much better shape. This next 2 weeks can still sort it but it's become a much more difficult job than it needed to be thanks to a complete lack of leadership at the club.

Absolutely, me too.

He's not top drawer, drifts in and out of games. If his touch was sublime and his finishing deadly then the lack of energy and willingness to fight for the ball could be accepted. Thing is, his touch isn't sublime and his finishing is so so.

I honestly don't think Mancini fancies him and have thought this since Adebayour's interview at the world cup when he talked about fighting for a starting place next season. I reckon Bobby has let Ade know his feelings and it wouldn't surprise me at all if he's off.

Thing is, we can't let him go with only Balotelli coming in, this lad is too young and too much of a potential nut job to be relied upon. If Ade goes, we'll need two in.

Fucking hell... this better means that Balotelli AND another striker (Dzeko) are coming... cannot believe Ade comes out with this bullshit now. Only a week ago he gave an interview for the OS where he said he would welcome more competition.

This....All through pre-season we've looked shit now we've got players that don't want to bother fighting for a place in the team, ive got a really bad feeling this season could be a real let down.

I thought the friendlies were just that...fitness wasnt it ?not the performance or the result..it was about running according to some fucking deluded people on here !!!!

Bollok's is what I said and I was asked if I was real !!!!!!..the pre season for me has been an absolute fucking shamble's,Spurs played the other day and had nearly all of the WC players involved in that match but we only had one back for our's against the German's......why?

Im livid at our pre season preperation's....one game left against Valencia and we still have no fucking pattern to our play....ANYWHERE on the pitch.

Shocking.

RE ADE - not bothered if he goes(Frustrating annoying smiley cunt) as long as we do indeed get in Ballo.

I'm very surprised at this on 2 counts:

1. Is Ade willing to take a pay cut to move to Juve; surely they won't be able/willing to pay the reported £140,000 a week wage fee?

2. I thought Juve were in for Krasic who is a Serbian. I'm not sure but I don't think they are part of the European system which would take them over the new Italian EU quota?
